ziggytrix seriously you guys, get drunk and watch True Stories (the movie)

Esuohlim Shit how did I miss this thread?

The Great Curve (Rongi mentioned the "third song", I'm assuming this is it) is a phenomenally fun listen with its fast tempo and overlapping lyrics, and is my personal favorite. The first three on Remain in Light are all great, though.

77 is my favorite album, which surprises me because it's all just ordinary guitars-and-drums rock and roll. I usually don't like that kind of music, but for some reason I like every track on that album. That's how great the Talking Heads are.

GADZOOKS A Clean Break is a terrific song.

Born Under The Punches is also my favorite opening song for an album ever.

re:

i've never seen "stop making sense", but it's been floating back and forth on my netflix queue for quite a while now. i'll give it a bump up.

i likes talking heads and david byrne lotsa.

Dole Aye, that song is ace. would fit right on to '77.

My picks: making flippy floppy, burning down the house, once in a lifetime, with our love.

Royal Tenenbaum I love "A Clean Break (Let's Work)" but it's only on TNOTBITH so not that many people now it. Such an awesome song that it's strange they never recorded it for an album.

Helm Overload, Born under punches, crosseyed
Jul 19th, 2005 05:17 PM
Rongi the song itself can get annoying, but the way Bryne performs it is just superb.

song wise i think i like crosseyed and painless the best, or the third song they played ( the name escapes me )

my favorite Talking Heads song is probably Life In Wartime, Crosseyed and Painless, or Cities.

Dole Psycho killer is one of my least favourite of their songs, never understood why it was so popular - but that performance is very entertaining.
Jul 19th, 2005 12:01 PM
Helm Don't like psycho killer. But the huge suit thing was hilarious.
Jul 18th, 2005 11:33 PM
Rongi psycho killer was my favorite part with the spaz dance :o

it was gr8
Jul 18th, 2005 07:19 PM

Bobo Adobo "More songs about buildings and food" was the first Talking heads album I heard, and it is still probably my favorite.
Jul 18th, 2005 03:37 PM
Dole The SMS versions of the speaking in tongues songs are just amazing.
Jul 18th, 2005 01:16 PM
Royal Tenenbaum The name of this band is Talking Heads is a must for all. The Rhino remaster is amazing, and it captures there live energy even better than Stop Making Sense. I still love SMS, but, then again, I love all their music.

ziggytrix True Stories (the movie!!)
Jul 18th, 2005 10:12 AM
Helm when I first listened to talking heads I was blown away. Shame most of their later stuff really does nothing for me.
Jul 18th, 2005 09:31 AM
Dole I fucking love Talking Heads. Was completly nuts about them all through my teenage years. And stop making sense is the best concert video ever made.
Jul 18th, 2005 12:15 AM
SirGodzilla They're concert video for Stop Making Sense is incredible. Probably the best concert video I've ever seen.
Jul 17th, 2005 11:53 PM
sadie i love singing "take me to the river."
Jul 17th, 2005 10:31 PM
