Command Prompt | I tired using it to run Blood. No Dice. Compatibilty Mode on XP seems to work the best for most of the stuff I try to run.

timrpgland | That's what I'm saying. I don't think they are giving it away anymore. They did for a while but then they removed it from being abandonware. A few sites still have it though but Beth isn't giving it away.

Driscoll | Commander Keen: Goodbye Galaxy! runs like a dream on it, as does all versions of DooM and Duke Nukem (though I haven't tried DN 3D on it yet).

Xenogil | Awesome. I'm gonna try it out and see if Loadstar will run on it.

timrpgland | what else did you try?

Supafly345 | Daggerfall is the only thing I could ever play on it.

timrpgland | I've been mainly using it for Daggerfall lately and set the clock speed to 13 or so and it runs very well. Anything more advanced than Daggerfall, I can see it having a problem with.

AChimp | For true old-school action, get your hands on a 486.

Helm | Dr.Boogie, try an earlier version than 0.63. I get clipping problems on all games with it, yet everything runs like a charm with 0.60. Also setting the CPU core as dynamic might help and upping the cycles to something like 10000

That happens with more than a few games. It's been a long time since I even touched DOSBox, but I think it has something to do with adjusting the framerate that makes it run smoother. It should be in the readme that comes with the emulator. |

Dr. Boogie | Bah. I tried using it to play Terminal Velocity, but it ran too slowly, and when I tried turning the speed up, that just made matters worse. Same goes for Syndicate.

Dosbox I've been using Dosbox to play all my old games and abandonware titles. It's a awesome dos emulator for newer machines. For those that aren't in the loop here it is http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1 You can adjust the speed and everything, it's a great little program. |
