re :LOL you guys seriously have to see this. It's footage of the "protesters" here in Bakersfield, and the anti protesters. http://www.bakersfield.com/media/200...est.source.wmv The funny part is where some stupid mexican student is talking about why she is against the law, and she says something like, "But what about the people who are here legally"? And then she goes on to say, "This is like what hitler did"! Real winners. That's the kind of intelligence guiding these protests, and look at that 40 year old jackass who's trying to lead all of the highschoolers or something. What the fuck is he doing? I guess there's people who are protesting the protesters with signs that say, "What part of illegal don't you understand"? ![]() OH yea, www.bakersfield.com at the bottom there's some more media of the protests(also if the link didn't work) |

mburbank | I can't believe Phagrow hasn't come over here to give his teabag opinion about Mexicans ruining our country. Someone should tell him Mexicans are the USA version of British Arabs except poorer.

One of the places they are protesting is where i live(Bakersfield, ca), the school is actually right around the corner and you can see it from here. They were standing in front of my house for a few hours yesterday, and they are currently still wandering around aimlessly and screaming. It doesn't seem like the students here have any destination or any type of vendetta, you'd think they'd go to city hall like the students in houston because it's a stones throw away. They are also obstructing traffic and acting like ruffians. Other than that it's nice to hear. It would just be nice if they had a little bit of organization and thought behind it rather than just acting like jackass children. Parading through residential areas and screaming for hours on in and obstructing traffic isn't going to win them any points. For that matter neither is acting like you're in a riot and throwing water bottles at police cars and oncoming traffic and trying to "Beat up" commercial business signs. |

mburbank | I think we need a solution that is the dictionary deffinition of Amnesty but we all agree to say it isn't amnesty, and if anyone uses the word amnesty in connection with it we all go "Shhhhhhh".

I honestly haven't paid as much attention to this issue as I would like to admit. I think the protests are awesome and inspiring. I think Senators Kyl and Cornyn are off track on thinking you can force all current illegals to come forward and register, or else be deported. Saying that the back of the line begins "in their country" seems to be the fingers in the ears "I can't hear you!" solution to things. We need to find a resolution that allows for quasi-amnesty for folks that are already here, and one that also accounts for security considerations. |
