sloth Try http://www.touchmusic.org.uk. I'm not up on drone/ambient but they have quite a few well-known artists like Christian Fennesz and Ryoji Ikeda.

Sethomas My girlfriend came to study and she put www.somafm.com on my computer, particularly "Drone Zone" (http://somafm.com/dronezone.asx) . I kept expecting a sudden thrash of noise, but it never ever came. Basically, everything they played reminded me of the ambient tracks on the Lost Highway soundtrack, except without the aspirated sexing.

nature-esq, dark, and noise are nice. i've always been a fan of noise, so im trying to find something that mixes that into the style. im not into the whole drumloop thing. i like the stuff that goes without a beat, and is just real slow and calm.

aaaaaand thanks for the link, chojin.<3 i'll try and read up on it tomorrow sometime. :D

Esuohlim I tried so very hard to get into ambient since I thought it would help me study, but for some fucking reason I find it harder to concentrate with it on. And, on it's own, it's not interesting enough to lay there and listen to.

But you should definitely look into Brian Eno, the father of Ambient music. I've heard A Plataux Of Mirror and it's simply breathtaking at times.

Ambient

Anyone know of some good ambient "artists" ?

I don't know too much about this genre, but I like things that have a lot of nature sampling, and animals, and people mumbling. rly slow. :o

bscly i've been streaming this ambient station on http://di.fm for the last few nights, and it's awesome. but, i noticed that they keep looping the same songs. so im looking for some albums to download. its so relaxing. :O!
