AChimp cd\ takes you to the root directory for the drive you're on.

cd.. takes you up one level in the current path.

cd ..\.. would take you up two levels, etc.

Typing C: while you're in cwindows would do nothing since you're already on C:

otherwise you could be going
cd .. cd .. cd .. cd ..

cd ...
i don't remember but i think the amount of dots you use is for the amount of folders you want to go up. I could be making that up though.

I think cd.. just brings you up one directory from the current. I haven't used DOS for years though, so what do I know. UNIX FTW!!1
