J.P. is great and Cracked has been doing much better since he joined them, so it shows. As for Lampoon, you say you never got a handle on how they were working? My friend, I went in and interviewed with them for a flul-time writing position and still didn't know how they were working! I don't think they did either. They just seemed kind of broken and sad about their situation (ie: having to deal with the various areas of the company vying for promotional space on their site, rather than letting them focus on creating original content for the web). And yep, they emailed me about contributing to some new book too, but that entire project appears to have evaporated. 'Tis a sad state of affairs for 'em. As for their stock, haha, somehow I don't think Jim Cramer would recommend them as a strong buy. Just check out their site traffic rankings right now... I feel bad for 'em. The guys that work there seemed real nice when I met 'em, but the company they work for just can't seem to get it together. |

After Jay Pinkerton left them for Cracked, I never once got a handle on how they were working, who was in charge of what or saw any evidence that any of them knew anything about or had any previous experience with comedy. There were a number of editors I would hear from once or twice and then never again. Then there was a widely released press release for their 'relaunch' which actually mentioned me by name as one of their blogger, and then after only a few months they canceled all new material without ever even contacting me. I was subcontracting some work on a book they were doing, and they pulled the plug on that too. They;re a publicly traded STOCK for God's sake! What a waste. |

Mockery | The fact that they have millions of dollars, have a name that's been well known for so long and have plenty of people working full-time for them, yet seemingly do nothing with that site as the traffic continues to plummet is just sad. I just don't understand that kind of disorganization. Maybe for some college kids starting a web site, but not a big, established company like theirs.

mburbank | Yes. They stopped responding to my emails as well. At no point did they say "We're not doing original material anymore." Under original content, the most recent thing they have is a blog entry I wrote for them several months ago. You'd think they'd try to get some mileage out f stuff they paid for.

Actually, they are a website I used to write for. Mock hooked me up with them, nice folks. Unfortunately, they are defunct, but they keep their archive up, god bless them. The earliest stuff there appeared in I-mock as well, but much of it can only be found there. |

"Caned" or "canned"? Because, come on, those are 2 VERY different things Max. I'm really hoping that when they are displeased, they don't go whipping their employees with bamboo canes. ![]() |

The one on Natlamp is hard to find, since they decided they don't value original material AT ALL, but I'll go dig up a link in a bit. I have one up at Acid Logic right now, www.acidlogic.com. And if you go dig up any issue of Hustler from 2005 I ran a monthly strip called "Angry D'arcy", the only non porno thing in their whole damn mag. I'm out of the closet about writing for them since they caned my ass. It used to be a carefully guarded secret. The comcis take a HUGE amount of time to do, so there aren't so many of them. |

What's max's site where he does his other comics? Is it on Nat'l Lampoons? Great work by the way, really enjoyed it. |
