The "Flight" books are some of my favorites. Even though its a collection of stories put together, the variety and artwork makes for a great read. "Put this back on the shelf" "Basalisk" "Strychnine Lives" "Wormwood" "The Sandman Chronicles" |

sloth | i'm not usually one to buy comics (you know what, fuck the haters and take it back! it worked with nigga and queer so why not this?) but i've just taken the plunge and bought a lot with the whole transmet comic series (not the trade paperbacks) off ebay. if my torrented collection was paper i'd have worn it out by now so i figured it was only fair. im trying to get a complete collection of the invisibles too, since i downloaded it on someone's recommendation here and promptly dug the shit out of it (and i never got to thank them - thanks!) |

Here's a list of some of my all time favorite graphic novels (ugh, I hate that goddamn term): Hard Boiled Moebius Anything by Enki Bilal Valérian and Laureline (I don't even know how many goddamn albums there are) Judge Dredd albums, if you can call them graphic novels The Ballad of Halo Jones (don't know why, but I thought it was a batshit awesome trilogy) Inspector Canardo series by Benoit Sokal (come on, there was no such thing as furries back then, so it's alright to like it) Pretty much anything by Ralf König (if you don't mind over the top homosexuality in your comics) As you can see, I'm a sucker for European and especially French comics. Also, you should check out anything you can find by this finnish guy named Petri Hiltunen (except the Väinämöinen series, it sucks), but i don't know if any of his stuff has been translated. My favorite stuff from him is his Praedor series and the Oath to the Sun (or something, it's called Vala Auringolle in finnish) book. |

Naught | Seen the trailer yet for I Am Legend, the new film coming out starring Will Smith? That's a bastardization of an amazing book by the same title by author Richard Matheson. The graphic novel for it is brilliant and oh-so-very worthwhile to get. They used to sell portions of it in chapters separately, but they've since released the complete work in one piece. I picked up my copy for $20. Once you read it, you'll see how badly the movie is going to destroy it just from watching the trailer. I'd rant, but I really need to go to bed soon and I don't feel like writing an essay. |

toonamil | There's two I recommend all to read, being Creature Tech and The Surrogates. Both are published by Top Shelf Productions and are probably two of the most well-written graphics I've read. |

Preacher is my favorite comic of all time. Sandman is also fucking amazing. And of course, you can't really experience the graphic novel until you've read Watchmen. Others I think you might enjoy, Miss Mod (some are stand-alone actual 'novels', and some are series, but these series DO have endings and are structured like large epic novels, though three of these are still in progress; I'm also staying away from the superhero stuff, as I'm guessing that wouldn't be what you're looking for): Y - The Last Man Fables Black Hole Pride of Baghdad Blankets V For Vendetta Transmetropolitan Persepolis From Hell 100 Bullets Goodbye, Chunky Rice Maus Also, I own Jimmy Corrigan Smartest Kid on Earth but haven't read it yet. My understanding though is that a lot of Clowes fans also really enjoy Chris Ware, so you might want to give that a look. |

Grislygus | I was under the impression that Blue Fox was just retardedly gay, until she mentioned being a girl later. |

Cliff Steele | read The Invisibles, it is the best thing Grant Morrison has written and I think it's on par with Preacher. Also check out The Mystery Play if you want something shorter and self contained |

sloth | i dont know if it even qualifies but i really like 'jimmy corrigan, the smartest kid on earth'. reviews like to talk about 'existential angst' but if that puts you off do an image search on google, there are a few spreads from the comic. |

Jeff The Ninja | If you have no problem with anime and stuff, I would strongly suggest the "Berserk" series. Great story, characters and a lot of killing. |
