Thanks guys. I'm really hating this project so far. I think bright colours are one of the most difficult things to pull of while keeping the site looking stylish. I guess I shouldn't care so much that the site looks dreadful to me as I'm far from the target audience but I'm just not getting any satisfaction out of putting my name on this thing. The pbskids site is really good and It's given me alot of inspiration so thanks again for that. |

colors and diversions to the point that it's hard to look at, lots of sound, and animation. My little sister loves pollypocket.com and bratz.com it may not be education, but there are some key things here that hold a little girls atention. I suggest checking it out. |

glowbelly | bright colors and lots of interaction/sound. you have to make it easy to navigate, though, because children get bored pretty easily when things are too complicated. one great website to look at is pbskids.org. my son (at 2) is infatuated with the curious george page. |

Designing For Children So I have to make an educational Flash website aimed at 5-7 year olds but I have no idea what would appeal to them besides standard HCI guidelines (layout principles etc.) . I'm thinking that a site resembling a note pad with pencil writing and kids pictures etc on would be best. Somewhat cliche but it's about the only think I can get looking stylish while remaining accessible to young kids. Anyone have any experience in this kind of thing to offer some pointers? Thanks. |
