How I met SWAN SONG

It was a cold night in 1989 when I first met SWAN SONG. Me and my Marine Corps buddies were heading back to the base after a long night of boozing and we had a long walk ahead of us so we decided to stop at the "corner store" and get some much needed munchies to make our trek back a little easier. While I waited by the door or should I say while I waited leaning on the door, I noticed a rotating book rack with one book on it. I thought it kinda strange that this big ole book rack only have one book on it and maybe it's because I was wasted but who knows. Anyway for whatever reason I stumbled over to the rack and grabbed the book and it had a cool looking cover so I decided to buy it. So, we're all loaded up and we headed out back to that cold ass North Carolina wind. On the way back to the base we had to walk along side a major highway but at this time of night there wasn't a car to be seen. Next thing I know I hear "Look Out!!" and as I turned around all I saw was headlights heading straight for me!! Deer in the headlights!! All I could think to do was jump so I did. I hit the pop up headlights, hit the hood, hit the windshield, hit the roof, and then hit the ground! When I came to I look in my right hand and clutched firmly in it was SWAN SONG. Let me tell you guys something, the book is over 1000 pages so it's pretty think but I had wrapped my entire hand around it while I was flying through the air. Well, I survived that night and kept that book and read it and to this day, I still have that copy with me and have read it about 15 - 20 times! Yes, it's that good! I could tell you what it's about but that would ruin it for you so if you are ever out and about and see a book with the title - SWAN SONG by ROBERT R. MCCAMMON - pick it up and I promise you that you won't be dissapointed.
