Because Konami likes spending 30 times more on development to make games on systems with an inferior user base. Yeah, this guy isn't an idiot. |

Dr. V | Looks like if I want to play a "mature adult sophisticated hoity toity" game, I HAVE to get a 360. |

Assuming silent hill still uses radio feedback to warn you about enemies, they could do that through the remote speaker. Aiming would be done with the pointer, dodging would be done with nunchuk shakes, the rest would be mapped to normal buttons. The game would be fine on Wii, probably more playable than the other versions and less pretty. However, the consumer market has been punishing companies for paying contractors to hack out Wii ports, and Konami therefore likely requires the development team to produce the 360 and Wii versions of any games in-house (with the ps3 version being hacked out by another team from the 360 version). It looks like this team isn't suited - conceptually - to Wii development, especially if they're making comments like the ones in the thread's title. So, it's a shame, but fuck 'em. The 360 and Wii are competing for different markets anyway, and their target on the 360 (with ps3 porting tacked on) for this type of game may indeed be the right decision. |

Zomboid | Maybe it's not hardcore enough for GOOD horror games? |

Dr. Boogie | How can the Wii be hardcore enough for Manhunt 2, but not enough for Silent Hill 5? |

Supafly345 | Nintendo sorta fixed the system so most of the games would be Wii exclusive, which is brilliant, and their sales show how brilliant it is. I am sure porting to or from the wii is a little more expensive and complicated than just re-assigning button functions to fit the controller. |

Fathom Zero | I don't know where you were going with that last bit, but Wrath: Unleashed and The Emporer's Tomb were pretty good games. |

According to Yahtzee Croshaw this game is "apparently in the hands of a pack of phenominal idiots" so I'll have to do some research before I'll know what's what. I've never played a Silent Hill game either so I can't say I give much of a shit. |

anyway let's not derail this thread so it gets merged with the let's argue about video games thread huh guys! SH5 looks like it's taking a lot of influence from the SH movie. I'm not sure how I feel about that because while I liked the movie, I've already seen it and this gives me fear for the originality of this new entry. What do you think! |

Well I think the Wii is great! I was a bit skeptical at first but after buying MP3 which causes me to ejaculate every 5 minutes or so I am satisfied with my purchase. I'm gonna get Scarface, Strikers Charged, and Trauma Center soon too! Also Brawl and No More Heroes when they come out! |

How bout this for an excuse? They're not as fun as 360s. I have both and I only use my wii for virtual console games. Any game that is available on either console is probably better on the 360 because you don't have to deal with gimmicky controls. So for sh5, where you could have a blast flicking your wrist to make your character dodge, you'll have the same effect by pressing a button or moving the joystick on the 360 or ps3. I think I'll survive knowing what I might be missing ![]() |

MLE | uhm, i don't think it's that hard to port once it's done. you're being RIDICULOUS |
Oct 21st, 2007 10:32 PM | |
Emu | I wouldn't care if it was ported to the Wii, but only long after it's on 360 and PS3, so they don't pull a Twilight Princess and delay development for a year. |

Well, no, you can port it much like they ported RE4. Put it out on every other console, review it, then let it loose on the most popular console of the new generation. I mean, sure I'm disappointed, but I also think they're standing to lose a lot here. |

Emu | I still maintain that SH on the Wii would be gay -- not to mention it would take development time away from the game to adapt it to work on the Wii. I like the SH series too much to be upset because some fags who won't buy a 360 are upset because they won't get the game. |

I'm just disappointed, as Silent Hill is one of my favorite game franchises...it's cool how they're implementing dodging and whatnot but seriously, it's not like they can't come up with some creative ways to map the controls, motion-sensing or not. I'm sure there's a HUGE market of Wii owners that are just chomping at the bit for something more "mature", and I'm really shocked to see that Konami won't give it to them ;( |
