There was a feature for my soundcard (Audigy 2) that allowed me to modify the sound, including one that made everything "chipmunk" sounding. Do you know what audio card you have or what on-board chip it is? That will be immensely helpful in diagnosing this problem. Also, what kind of speakers do you have and how do you connect them to your PC? |

MetalMilitia | I seem to remember this happening to me a few years ago. Can't remember exactly what fixed it though. Have you tried updating your drivers (possibly included in the motherboard drivers package if you're using on-board sound)? |

Audio is screwy on the computer. I got a computer recently and for some reason, the audio sounds all high-pitched and overly digital. Ex. I listen to a cd and the vocals are higher and more chipmunky than usual. Plus the music sounds faster. Could anyone give me an idea of what this possibly is and how to fix it? Thanks. |
