mburbank Sorry, sorry, we've been back on yellow alert for a coouple of day now, you can all can all go back to feeling just, you know, lemony elevated, and not orange-orange heightened.

Zosimus ...I dare say that it is a good strategy they are using if the convention is looking for election-sympathy. A sort of commercial psychology for the people.
In fact, where better to have their rebulican convention, than right there in the very wound of the stab; the place, where tragedy struck us all down like a bolt of lighting! It doesn't require a lot to find attention there, and they are catching people with the remenance of patriotic rhetoric.

Nothing like a quick election mind-fuck!

mburbank The Republican Nominating convention is going to be held in NYC about a week before September 11, which is a pretty ballsy use of tragedy and will go down in political history as a really amazing bit of Machievellian strategy, a really stupid assesment of National gullability, or, in the event of an actual terrorist attack on NY, just a dumb as dirt idea.

Do you suppose with such a tempting target event in such a tempting target city they will crank up the national alert to Orange, or just leave it there from now until then?
May 27th, 2003 04:26 PM
Zosimus One thing is national security another is mass paranoia! !

"Vinth"? BWAAHAHAHAHAHA!!
May 27th, 2003 04:14 PM

mburbank Kelly, I think your T-shirt idea is pretty funny, but in the current climate you could get killed (literally) for wearing it.

Brandon Considering terrorism has become the new communism in terms of what Americans are paranoid of...

...do you think we should call this period the "Orange Scare"?
May 20th, 2003 03:51 PM
mburbank I think Crayola should rename one of their Orangish Crayons "Orange Alert" Or maybe "Heigtened Rish Orange".
May 20th, 2003 03:29 PM
FS Juuust as long as you don't worry your pretty little head about Iraq threatening to become Afghanistan II, the Revenge.

sspadowsky Let me see if I understand the Senator correctly: "Something bad may or may not happen somewhere, at some time."

OK, Senator, I'll take all the necessary precautions.

WE'RE BACK ON ORANGE ALERT!!!

" Speaking to reporters while administration officials were considering raising the level, Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John Warner, R-Va., said "I think Americans should give heed and pay attention to what they decide."

"We do not know the specificity of where a strike could or could not come, but I think prudent measures are being taken by the president on down, by his administration," Warner said.

Say, John, who writes your material, Vinth?
