mburbank 400.5 billion for research into 'tactical' mini-nukes. ie, usable on the battlefield. Thankfully we don't need that money at the state level, and lord knows if we can't find a way to make useable nuclear weapons then what the hell do we hve nuclear weapons for anyway?

KevinTheOmnivore Eye Tie, granted, Russia has remained a questionable nation, but don't you think this is probably a result of posturing on both sides??

AChimp The U.S. should respond in kind by "duck-and-cover"-ing at the same time.

Hmmm

Exercise or not it still says quite a bit about how we are being viewed these days.

Return of MAD-era diplomacy?

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/arti...6/102442.shtml

I'm not sure how old this story is, but I just saw it today. I realize that the Russians were never really our "friends," but to me, this is a declaration of intent and it is the first step in destroying the relationship we have built since the fall of the USSR. If this were to all end with just an excercise, then that is fine; but what if it doesn't?

edit-ok, it is a few days old. i should have paid more attention.
