mburbank Good for you, Nalds. Welll said.

As for you, Vinth, you endorsed and made a big deal of VJ Sing, who thought she shouldn't compete becuase among other things he felt she'd be keeping a deserving man from taking her spot.

Unless she came in last, I guess he's full of shit, but what can you expect from someone who enjoys the progress that's been made against discrimination but doesn't want to share it.

Ronnie Raygun There is no rule that says she can't play so I don't see a problem with it.

I'm glad to see her compete.

El Blanco Golf is about indivual achievement, anyway. the only person any pro golfer plays for is him or herself. She is the best female golfer i the world, is absolutly destroying the LPGA courses, and wants to see if she can really make it. Why not?

I guess that's what I'm asking. Is she trying to bring respect to women player's, in general, or just to herself ... and with that respect, what does she hope to achieve? Oh well, maybe I'll go search out an interview rather than conjecture.

kellychaos Believe me I'm not trying to be sexist when I say this but I think that men and women should have at least some clubs, organizations, sports leagues, ect that remain seperate. Why does EVERYTHING have to include EVERYONE? I say this without fear of being politically incorrect. It's not about THAT. It's about each sex being able to have an area of the world that is theirs without the fear of being encroched upon. I think that it's healthy to have separation once in a while. As far as the Sorremstam issue goes, I must say I'm a little confused. She says she wants to do this to challenge herself. As far as golf goes, isn't the biggest challenge within yourself. If you miss par on a hole, it's not because another player ran up and blocked your stroke or tackled you. I'd agree, of course, that playing against others (especially those that are especially skilled) would probably raise your game due to the "spirit of competition" but couldn't you find this same "spirit" playing against other women. Is she saying, then, that other women suck or aren't on par with her skills? Isn't that kind of a slap in the face to the LPGA? Or is she trying to bring respect to the LPGA by showing that their skills are comparable to the men. I'm confused my her motivation.

El Blanco Tiger Woods isn't playing? Then how does golf make the news?

I think annika is making important steps for the equal treatment of rich white women.

Seriously: women should be able to compete on the real PGA. Its not like Woods or Garcias are gonna be body checking them on their drives. As long as they can compete under the same rules, why not?

Incidently, there is a 13 year old girl who is 6'0 and can drive a ball 300 yards. If she has any kind of a short game, she could easily compete against the men in a few years. That is, if Augusta lets her in.

(Would you believe I don't like golf?)

Vinth, you should change your motto to "putting my foot in my mouth."
