Protoclown Shit, Ronnie. I am truly sorry to hear about your loss.

I cannot even imagine going through something like that, and though we do not often see eye to eye on much of anything, I have to say that you are a strong person. You have to be to get through something like that.

I hope that life treats you and your wife more kindly on the road ahead.

Yeah

I don't know how often you guys are around young people, well, by young I mean late teens I suppose, but I am pretty frequently and it saddens me a bit.

I work on a college campus that is pretty liberal dominated and it entertains me. It's no Berkley, although many of the "activist" students would like to think so. Regardless, I'm saddened by how many people use the "narrow minded" label on people who don't agree with their point of view when in reality they are guilty of the exact same thing, only from opposite side of the spectrum.

Partisanship sucks.

Ronnie Raygun "Rush's credibility would depend on when his book was written, and how much information was available at the time...I'll see what I can find out about it." - Jean X

It doesn't matter when the book was written. The fact that evidence points toward Ozone being on the mend suggests he was correct. What he made was a prediction that appears to be true. The Ozone situation was blown out of proportion by the left.

Here's another article that suggests the Ozone is on the mend.

http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/space/0...les/index.html

Have a look at this.

"Recent satellite images reveal that the ozone hole had shrunk considerably compared with the previous two years. Scientists caution that the data are insufficient to conclude that the fragile ozone layer is on the mend."

In other words, there's not sufficient evidence to say that proof is absolute but evidence would support Rush more than it would your source.

Also,

"Moreover, the hole had dwindled in size before the split because of unusually warm temperatures in the atmosphere, according to NASA ozone scientist Paul Newman."

This also supports Rush's theories concering the healing process of the environment. Rush always says that the Earth is not as fragile as the left wing environmentalists make it seem. The Nasa scientist seems to agree.

The_Rorschach " Rush's credibility would depend on when his book was written, and how much information was available at the time...I'll see what I can find out about it."

No Jeanette, once again your view point is fatally flawed. His credibility depends upon the veracity of his statements, not the popularity and reception of his statements. Otherwise Churchill was an idiot for suspecting Germany of any wrong doing before the fall of Prauge.

Secondly. . .

EDIT: Colour me humbled

RUSH FICTION:

suggesting that it has been limited to "occasional reduced levels of
ozone over Antarctica." 1/

SCIENTIFIC FACT:

Substantially reduced levels of ozone have been measured over
most of the globe, including North America, Europe, and elsewhere.
In fact, scientists have observed a thinning of the ozone layer at all
latitudes outside the tropics. By 1991, the depletion over North
America averaged nearly 5 percent. 2/ Since 1991, ozone depletion
has further intensified. 3/

mburbank Ronnie;

I'm so sorry. I can't imagine anything worse and my deepest sympathies to you and your wife. I may have mentioned my wife is in Early intervention, and I also have a friend who lost one of her twins to Menkes syndrome. Through the two of them I'm hooked up with some organizations, particularly internet groups for beraved parents. If you think anything like this would prove helpful, PM me and I'll send you info.

The_Rorschach I wish I could say something Ronnie, aside from offering a sympathetic word on condolence. . .I can't empathize, but for what its worth, I am deeply sorry it had to happen. I know it cannot be easy losing a child, I can only hope you have friends and family to support you right now.
May 25th, 2003 09:15 PM
Ronnie Raygun ....and thanks Kevin for the kind words.

I truly lost my innocence last Tues. when I was holding my child who was perfectly formed with the exception of his lungs. He even had our features...like my wifes ears and my hands. Never before had I truly understood the horrors of life. No words can describe it.

The only thing left for me to do is to follow in the footsteps of my Jewish brother David, father of Soloman. He experienced the same exact situation and relied on his faith to help him through those troubled times.

I have cried more this week than than all the other weeks of my life combined.....and my wife is taking it even worse.

Kevin, we are friends.

Thankyou.

---------------------------------------------

This is what my source says about Ozone depletion.

http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/space/1...ize/index.html

----------------------------------------------

Nobel Prize-winning chemist Sherwood Rowland and other researchers predicted last year the ozone hole would continue to grow through the first decade of the 21st century, followed by four or five decades of "healing." They said if the ban on CFCs holds, the ozone hole could close up by the end of the 21st century.

----------------------------------------------

......and if you look furthur into it you will see that the Ozone situation did a 180 under Reagan's watch with his Montreal Protocol of 1987.

....which goes back to what Rush was saying that the Ozone issue is really a non issue that is in control and is getting better but that doesn't stop the left from scaring people into voting for them and blowing these issues way out of proportion.

Sorry, I didn't look into your source more.

I'm just tired or lazy or somnthjingf..

Rush Limbaugh? The man who claimed that there were MORE Native Americans now than before white people arrived?
Here is an essay on Rush's statements on the environment, and rebuttals to them.
http://www.bestofmaui.com/rush.html

This link contains more rebuttals, specifically to statements in his book, "The Way Things Ought To Be"

Actually, No. I will not be having a "kid". My baby boy, "Gabriel" was born prematurely on the 20th and we buried him 2 days ago. My WIFE and I are having a tough time dealing with it so please don't refer to her as a "carrying unit".
Oh man, I'm sorry Ronnie. I didn't know.

I have listened to Hannity since he was first hired by WABC in NY, and I don't know that I've ever heard a more popmous, close-minded, and ignorant human being in my life.

I like Mark Simone (sp?) who comes on on Saturdays, he's cool, although conservative.

El Blanco Actually, Hannity is real popular on Long Island. They say things people have thought for a while. Whether you agree with them or not, the ideas were already rooted in people's minds, they just got it all on the airwaves.
