MrSmiley381 | The issue is, of course, that my computer won't run it. I haven't tried, but I know it won't. I might get it for a console of some sort, though I do love actual miniature games for some odd and expensive reason.

Dimnos | Yeah it follows the board game rules rather well. If you do pick it up let me know so we can do some matches.

MrSmiley381 | I just picked up a Nurgle's Rotters team for the board game, but I'd really like to give the video game a shot if it really does follow the board game rules.

Dimnos | $50 for the PC game and you dont have to buy and then paint teams. Not to mention you can play the AI when you have no one else to play with or you can do online multi-player. It has the standard rules in a turn based match that plays out exactly like the board game (as far as I can tell. I have only played the board game once or twice a few years back). You can also play blitz rules that I think is the standard rules plus some of the more common house rules that people play with. In blitz you can also do real time matches. When you play online, whoever set it up can customize the rules.

Zhukov | I've got the board game, but no figures to play with for some reason. Me and a mate were going to go halves in the game, and probably pick up some teams for the boardgame too, although they are pretty flipping expensive.

Dimnos | Ok. Now that I have a handle on how this works this game rocks! I love busting some skulls! If you are at all interested in it I would recommend it. If anyone does decide to pick it up let me know so we can crack some ribs!

It has two modes of play. You can do turn based or real time. Like Darkvare said the rules play out a bit odd. So far I have only played turn based because I thought it would be slower and I could get a better feel for it before I went to real time. From my own experience and what I have read on their forums this isnt the case. In turn based games anytime you fail a roll (yes there are still dice in this computer game) you cause a turnover and it goes to the other teams turn. So things could turn out bad for you if you fail one of your first actions of your turn. You start off with a million bucks to buy players and equipment. You get to field up to 11 guys at one time but can have up to 16 on your team if you want. You will need the extra guys to field as your other players get injured or killed. Any cash you have left can be used to pay for a "star player" to join your team for one game, pay for apothecaries to heal your players as they get injured, hire wizards to blast your opponents from the stands or to bride the ref to look the other way while your guys brutally stomp opponents that you have already tackled (this injures them even further or possibly kills them). Of course all the different races you can chose from have their strengths and weaknesses. I have mostly been playing the dwarfs and the lizardmen. The dwarfs are like little tanks that move slow but boy can they take a beating. The lizardmen have two different kinds of players, big guys that can dish out some pain or do some blocking and some little tiny guys that are fast but turn into a stain on the field if anyone pushes them over. Its a rough game and they cut you no slack even at the beginning of a season. It seams to follow the tabletop game rules almost to a T so if you have played that before (Looking at you Rob) you can probably jump right into this. |

Dimnos | I thought it was only out for PC at the moment. However Darkvare said he played it on DS. I didnt think that was coming out till later. It will be on xbox in Sept. The DS and PSP versions dont have career league or team customization.

Blood Bowl Currently you can only get it through digital download off their website. Has anyone here done this or maybe played a demo? |
