Heh, funny you should mention that Grave song, the album just finished downloading a few minutes before i came back to the metal board.  I had no idea the sound came from the amps, either. I was wondering to myself how the hell they did that, because i know fuck all about guitar playing, but it makes sense now that i know what it is. I don't think i'll be disappointed here, Autopsy and Dismember are two of my favorite death bands, though Autopsy's doesn't seem evident on Severed Survival, but strangely enough, is on Tortured Moans of Agony. I figured with money and ten years they'd get better amps to handle the sound. Guess not, but i don't have their full discography to make a good judgement on it. |

Thanks dude. That rusty guitar sound in question, Entombed created it (reportedly by cranking up old marshall amps to 10) Entombed were the original Swedish Death Metal band. Before At The Gates, before Grave or Tiamat. They started what was considered "Swedish death metal" but now must be clarified as "Cool, non-wimply non-power swedish death metal" to differentiate from the In Flames copy band bullshit. Give them a chance. Oh, and download that grave song "Soulless". You like will. |
