Jesus. And I thought I was babied. Teach the neccessary skills she needs as an adult. Then make her do them while you supervise. Make her do them with you standing by to keep her from making mistakes until she can do them alone. Don't baby her like her parents do. Teach her to take care of herself. Let me know how this turns out. |

The_voice_of_reason | Get her a shock collar and when she does something wrong zap the fuck out of her. If she does something right give her a doughnut.

You know, I've noticed that there's a disturbing number of girls nowadays who don't know their way around a kitchen. I'm not being sexist or anything and suggesting that women are supposed to cook everything, but I mean, come on! What happens when these people move out on their own? They shouldn't expect their boyfriends to cook for them all the time. ![]() |

With all due respect someone who is 26, still living with the parents who can't even properly heat a hotdog in a microwave... Shit almost sounds like me when i was 20.... Ultimately it's a test of mettle. If you really like her, at least try. i can easily agree with that. But if decent sex is the only glue holding the relationship together maybe another girl would be better for you (that is if you are looking for a meaningful go at it) -Personally i don't think that's too bad of a situation really , however it can be extremely emotionally draining. Best of luck with this endeavor. |

Everyone has to learn common sense sooner or later. If she is willing to listen and learn, I say stick with it, she will be shaped exactly to your tastes and idiosyncracies. But if she is just lazy and wants you to do everything, screw that. Some people know that they don't know anything, they just need help from someone who does. I don't really consider that high maintenance, I just consider that someone who is learning the ropes. Now if you wanna talk high maintenance, let's talk about my boyfriend. |

Royal Tenenbaum | I say, try and teach her, show her how to do shit, don't just give up on her. But, at some point, she may reveal herself as a uselss twit, which, at that point, would mean it's time to get out of there. But, there is always a chance she contains that basic human ability to learn, and all will be fine. Are you close to her parents at all? Because, if you are, you might want to meantion how fucking useless she is, and recommend that they try and make her do more of her own stuff (ie. laundry, cooking, maybe even some grocery shopping....).

Sounds like a dilemma to me man, I have had a relationship like that too (back in the day) This girl was a fucking moron (not saying youres is.) She had no common or street sense... (then again she was going out with me so...) She Didnt work, didnt have a liscense... Was way too fragile, always whined about petty shit and was basically the epitamy of being non-self sufficient. My best advice really is to follow you're gut on this one. If it's someone you really like you might be able to see past the shortcomings. If not, i would be concise and to the point and just let her know how ya feel. IF she isnt feeling it, it's time to move on. Ultimately you can't expect her to change for you, she might not be willing to- or be incapable of doing so... In my case me and this girl in mention just drifted apart, i had to let her go.. IT was at the point where i just couldnt stand it. |

High VS. Low maintenance Right now I'm seeing a girl who is 26 year old and still live with her parents. Her parents went away for a week long vacation to canada. She's freaking out because there's no one to take care for her so she's asked me to take care of her. I was like, 'uh-oh.' I really like this girl but it just annoys the hell out of me that she's asking me to teach her how seperate from white to dark for laundry and she doesn't know how to cook. She blew up hot dogs in the microwave for chrissake. I've never been the kind of a guy to rely on because I expect a person to know how to take care of herself but I like her so much, man. It's just so much work to do and it's time consuming. Sure the sex is great but some things just aren't worth the fuck. But again I like her so much. dammit. ![]() |
