Some very sad news... I just heard this from my good friend, Sgt. Slaughter. It seems that Road Warrior Hawk, whose real name was Michael Hegstrand, has passed away at the age of 46. He was part of the former WWF tag team, the Road Warriors, and was a close friend of Slaughter's from their days in the ring. I didn't know him all that well, nor his partner, Animal. We just knew each other through Slaughter, for the most part. But they were always so supportive of our fight against COBRA, and even donated some of the money they made as wrestlers to supply us Joes with much-needed medical equipment. It's a sad day, indeed. Hawk, you are, and always will be, an honorary GI Joe. We'll miss you, man. That's the lesson of the day, boys and girls. Never take your friends for granted. Because one day, they won't be there anymore, and you'll regret all the time you could have spent together, or all the things you could have said. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle... |
