Dr. Boogie | I read your post too quickly and for a minute, I thought you were saying The Rock was a scientologist.

I was walking by this thing we call the Rock today and the message on it said "Got Xenu? Xenu.net". So I guess this stupid little quarrel is still going on? |

Dr. Boogie | I hate to rain on his parade, but I think the teens over at 4chan have pretty much given up their fight at this point.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nntRnY26Iw Part 1 of 8 of a radio show featuring Mark Bunker, notable opponent of scientology, talking about the cult in general, the current conflict with anonymous, and his hopes for how anon's Feb. 10 pickets will be conducted. |

Tadao | It never ends. Everything must be controlled.

Pwnzerfaust | Yeah but it's scary because where does it end? What if they decide that any very negative statements towards themselves is threatening to national security? I guess it's that slippery-slope thing. I'm not saying it would necessarily be like that, but it's a possibility.

Not scary really, just the natural order of things. As humans we try to control what isn't controlled. Tame the wild so to speak. It's not like the government isn't controlling what we can and can't do online. I mean look at all the stuff we do online, everything is legal really, and what is against the law is cracked down on. I'm just saying that the government will be able to use something this big (if it does get this big) as a reason for coming out of the shadows. Then they will be able to enforce some really ugly rules due to acts of terrorism. |

Pwnzerfaust | Yeh, I suppose that's possible. Kinda scary.

El Blanco | The internet is strange and mysterious. A lot of people are scared of it. They are going to want the government to clamp down on it.

Tadao | Watch 4chan give the public a reason to accept visible control of the internet by the government, the way it is in China. That would be the greatest!

We are Legion I don't think they'll do a big coordinated raid. From what I've seen, the *channers aren't notable for their coordination. But I still prefer then over Scientologists. |

El Blanco | Ya, terrorists do this shit for political goals. Anon does it because they are a bunch of sociopaths. Thats the only real difference.

Emu | Part of me wants to believe this will actually go down.

Guitar Woman | Well, as far as the media and the uninformed (i.e. the majority of everyone) are concerned, they already are.
