Mockery | It always makes my day when I hear stories like this. I love it when something like the CoM pisses off some uptight chump. Thanks for sharing the story, Kelsey |

church of mockery in my dorm! So I had a church of mockery bookmark hanging behind my door in my dorm. It pissed my roomie off, and I had to have a meeting with the dorm coordinator about it. It was really amusing that she was mad because she had nothing in the room or anything that would indicate that she was a christian. She also maintained that she was liberal minded and not uptight at all. Right. . . But supposedly it had bothered her when she first saw it, but she said nothing about it at that time. Time passed and she kind of forgot about it, or so she said, but then her friends saw it everytime they came into the room. She said that they were offended by it and they couldn't believe that she could live with someone who would have something like that and that she didn't do anything about it. She also had a lot of other little stupid things that she was concerned about that we had to discuss with the dorm coordinator, but that was the one thing that had been bothering her for the longest time. I told the dorm guy that I wasn't going to take it down because it was stupid, and he didn't make me. In our little meeting, I told the both of them that would be like saying that someone would have to take down their cross if I was offended by the fact that they were Christian. My roomie had no response. I ended up moving out of that crappy dorm at semester so that I didn't die from the mold. My new roomie was Catholic and had her cross and a few other religious things hanging around the room. My friends got a good laugh about that. They told me I was going to scare off another one. My new roomie saw the bookmark and heard the story about it. She found the bookmark and the whole deal humorous. We both got a good laugh and she ended up becoming my best friend. |
