3. Frownland is the name of a Captain Beefheart song. I don't know if you caught that or not, so I threw it in.
I didn't.

4. Mark Peterson? Never heard of 'im. Probably a pop-culture reference I didn't get.
I'm making fun of how ignorant people will hear you're from somewhere and think you might per chance know somebody you know from there, as if the place you come from is as big as a high school or something.

5. What in the blue hell is up with your webpage. Being a fan of random, weird humor, I thought it was hilarious but I had no clue what it was supposed to be.
Really? I meant for it to come off as a Hamtaro fanfic site. But you thought it was funny, huh?

Quartermain should have said that in the movie.

To anyone who is thinking about going to see it, you'd be MUCH better off buying the comic by Alan Moore instead. It'll cost you more, but you'll get FAR more out of your money. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

I don't know, I think something else might be bothering you about the movie... Mr. Hyde. :resemblence

Protoclown I've never read "The Picture of Dorian Grey" myself, but I'm at least vaguely familiar with the Oscar Wilde story. It's about a guy who doesn't age, rather he has a portrait that ages in his stead. As far as I know, in the book he's not immortal like he is in the movie.

As for the comic, I believe there is a background panel reference to Dorian Grey in one of the issues, but that's it. He's not in the comic, nor is Tom Sawyer.

Zero Signal Connery's character (Allan Quartermain - only Richard Chamberlain is allowed to played that ) sums up the movie in one of jis own quotes IN the movie.

"I'm waiting to be impressed."

Protoclown Well, the second series of the League is already coming out, 5 of the 6 issues have been released, and I believe the last one comes out this month or the next.

I doubt they'll have anything past that though, as rumor has it that some of the League members die in this one.

I haven't read the 5 issues that are out for the second series yet, I kind of like to read them all in one sitting. I imagine the trade paperback collecting them will probably be out early next year.

Rongi Sir yes sir :o

Jul 13th, 2003 04:30 PM
El Blanco I'm sure the sequal will be much better.
Jul 13th, 2003 03:45 PM
Protoclown I will be expecting a full report on how much you enjoyed them. And trust me, you WILL.

My recommendations? NEVER WRONG.
Jul 13th, 2003 03:42 PM
Rongi Awesome. I put them in my shopping cart, but probably won't be able to purchase them till tommorrow or Wednesday .

Can't wait :o
Jul 13th, 2003 03:34 PM
Protoclown Most DEFINITELY. In fact, "Watchmen" is better.
Jul 13th, 2003 02:53 PM
Rongi Should I buy it with Watchmen too?

Yeah... because it was so cryptic

In any case, this sucks. I actually wanted to see this movie. Now they only way I'll watch it is if someone tells me Mina Harker gets naked.

crash0814 Umm...not sure what the point of your message was, but I'm assuming it's about the movie "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen." I just got back from seeing it and lemme tell ya folks, it was one of the worst movies of the year. So boring I nearly walked out. I plead with you to not see this movie.
