ziggytrix Tropical makes a logical argument, but it is not backed up by the world of science.

consider:

http://www.lbl.gov/Science-Articles/...icroscope.html
http://www.cac.yorku.ca/people/mozurke/Aerosol.htm

It does seem rather counter-intuitive that particles of salt could be suspended in the air like that.

AChimp Salty rain is caused by salt and dust particles in the air. The water vapour uses the small particles as a core to condense around.

Salty snow can be caused by this, too, but can also be caused by urine.

whoreable obviously there is some salt in the air...thats why metal rusts so fast on the coast. but i am pretty sure that evaporating water doesnt take the salt with it.

perhaps it is MAGIC

Pub Lover Coastal Rain & Snow Are Salty!

Edit:
I lived in the UK, both inland (no saltie rain) & on the coast (saltie rain)
I now live in New Zealand, which is not wide enough for any part (of the south island) to be considered 'inland', it's all coast. It has saltie rain.
Today it snowed for the first time that I've lived here, I tasted the snow. The Snow Was Saltie!

Edit #2:
A Coastal or Inland Doctor?

Not all the salt, a tiny, little bit of salt, just enough for taste.

Stupid argument between Pub and I

Okay Pub says the rain and snow in his region is salty.
I asked how come? He says it's because he lives in a costal region. Then i said, bullshit, when water evapourates it leave behind all the salt particles it disolved. Then he claims that a small amount of the salt goes with the vapour into the clouds too. Then I explain it's impossible because salt's boiling point is too high, for it to go up to the clouds, then he says that vapour can dissolve solids too. But that's impossible.

Can anybody say a few good words for me to convince my misguided buddy?
