basically I hated the part with dwight schrute, the hamburger phone, and the end, but the middle kinda made up for it to me. I overall liked it and I don't think the dialog is unrealistic aside from those times that I hated. no one caught the cut chemist logo on the white board in the science class. |

Damn! Juno's up for a lot of academy awards! Including Best Picture and Best Actress for Ellen Page. I haven't seen it yet, but could those who have tell me if any of this is deserved? I was honestly shocked to hear its name so much in the nominations this morning. |

Dr. Octogonopus | juno was okay. it was funny, but really awkward being one of the only guys in a theatre full of vagina jokes. and some fat guy next to me killed my ear drum laughing so hard. no movie is funny enough to make you lean next to the person beside you and start SCREAMING.

Oh yeah, the soundtrack was terrible. So if you're one to base your movie experience on the soundtrack then do not see this movie! |

Ninjavenom | I loved it. For the record, though, i do not like The Moldy Peaches.

Dr. V | Agreed. Though I challenge you to find a 16 yr old that is that witty

J. Tithonus Pednaud | I really enjoyed it. But I have noticed that it is one of those love or hate films, split down the middle.

I liked the movie, but I think Schmid's criticisms are valid. I thought the movie was funny and cute, but I don't know if it's really that deserving of all the acclaim it's gotten. There was a time in Hollywood when execs aspired to make movies like Juno on a regular basis, not as bait for the Academy during Oscar Season. |

This movie was garbage. In the first ten minutes, Dwight Shrute himself says something to the effect of "This ain't no Etch-o-Sketch, homeskillet. This is one doodle that can't be un-did. Your eggo is preggo." I HATED the character Juno, too. I read a review somewhere that says "For every moment in 'Knocked Up' that made you say 'That's exactly how people are!,' there's a moment in this movie that makes you think the opposite." It's just a movie of one-liners and oneupsmanship. There's little to no dialogue either, just vague pop culture references scattered throughout. There's a scene in the movie where Juno is going into labor and she belts out "THUNDERCATS ARE GOOOOO." The theatre erupted in thunderous laughter and applause. I wanted to vomit. Maybe I was expecting too much, but if you're making a movie with a serious topic like teen pregnancy and make everything else entirely realistic then why do the characters have to talk like utter douchebags. But everyone I talk to loves the movie, so go right the fuck ahead I guess. |

Emu | What the hell was up with that comic he gave her?

Zbu Manowar | She's cute, but the previews for the film are starting to annoy the hell out of me. I'm all for making fun of a genre (like the pretentious and in dire-need-of-a-critical-asskicking genre like teen pregnancy ala For Keeps), but this seems so 'smartly' written that it's hard to take seriously. The whole 'teenager wise beyond her years' is a bit too hard to take.

Not You | He wasn't that creepy, but would have been really creepy if he said "I don't think the baby would mind my penis poking it's head so lets do it."

Sam | I LIKED THIS MOVIE AND I WOULD SAY TO SOMEONE WHO HASN'T SEEN IT THAT THEY SHOULD SEE IT BECAUSE IT IS A GOOD TIME AND JASON BATEMAN WAS SO CREEPY I WINCED WHENEVER HE WAS ON THE SCREEN.

Esuohlim | I think Ellen Page is cute as hell
Jan 13th, 2008 10:27 PM | ||
Emu | Juno (the character) is fast-talking enough to make everything she says sound witty. I would totally nail her if she wasn't pregnant.

i wouldn't call it a chick flick, but i would classify it as a romantic comedy / drama. still some of the dry / awkward humor that michael cera is known for, but yeah, he wasn't on screen for that much time. still good and honest though. |

I saw it today! Watch out, it's a chick flick in disguise ! And if you're an Arrested Development fan watch out because Michael Cera barely gets screen time and Jason Bateman comes off as creepy. That being said, I liked this movie so yes |
