Tadao Fuck that Troy dude. He fucked over his family and friends and talked mad shit about the hand that feeds. Sure the DOC is biased, but the basics are there. They guy is an ego tripping douchebag.
Apr 26th, 2010 10:29 PM
Tadao 15 mins in and he's already talking serious shit about his little brother.
Apr 26th, 2010 05:20 PM
Tadao I'm so glad I don't work anymore and have a gorgeous girl who doesn't mind.
Apr 26th, 2010 05:06 PM
Grislygus Thanks, but i haven't even had the chance to watch it yet

Though once this week is over my training will be done and I won't have to waste time sitting around and cruise the internet on my phone while I listen to a roomful ad people ask stupid questions and talk over the beleaguered census instructors and I'll fnally get to it

Kitsa There's a facebook group called "TROY DUFFY OWES US ALL AN APOLOGY FOR BOONDOCK SAINTS 2"
Apr 26th, 2010 04:59 PM
Tadao I'm downloading it now. OH AND BTW GUS, YOU'RE WELCOME FOR THE JELLO/DOA MOVIE.
Apr 26th, 2010 04:49 PM
Grislygus That would be just extraordinarily shitty editing
Apr 26th, 2010 09:09 AM
Kitsa I don't know if it was an issue with our instant netflix thing or whether it was just extraordinarily shitty editing, but about half of the transition-title scenes (or whatever you call the explanation text that fades in and out) flashed by so fast you couldn't read them.

Basically, Tadao, it's just a bunch of camcorder footage of the guy reacting to his own fame.
Apr 25th, 2010 10:58 PM
Tadao I still haven't watched the DOC, someone remind me in 2 weeks.
Apr 25th, 2010 09:13 PM
Kitsa Finally got around to seeing the documentary. I dunno, I was a little bored by it. Ten minutes in it was like yes, we get the point, you're saying it went to his head and he's a dick now. Past that, I was only watching for the behind the scenes footage, and Billy Connolly was the only one who really seemed to play.

And of course the entire prologue was rendered pretty much null by the fact that he managed to make a sequel. Seeing as he called the head of Miramax a see-you-next-Tuesday, it's a wonder he even did that.

Mad Melvin Back to the topic. The movie was just pointless garbage. They just remade the good scenes from the first movie, but managed to make them shitty. I expected something original instead of this fan-wankery. The only thing I liked was the backstory of El Duce.

Apr 4th, 2010 01:28 PM
Tadao Really Ant, you wanna do this. I used to go light on you cause it was always too easy, but if you wanna go rounds, I'm game.

MarioRPG I hear that documentary about the director or whatever is hilarious if you hate the movie.

That was the most useless two sentences of the year so far.

Tadao I've never actually played GTA. It always kinda seemed dumb to me.

Kitsa Still, am I the only one who thought that both of these films were like watching a GTA-style video game? Specifically GTA IV.
Apr 1st, 2010 02:21 PM
Grislygus Lake of Fire is the only one I can think of
Apr 1st, 2010 01:57 PM
Tadao I haven't seen an unbiased documentary since forever. IF EVER.
Apr 1st, 2010 01:19 PM
Grislygus This movie was made by two of the guys that Duffy hilariously SHRIEKS at in the footage itself, what kind of moron would be expecting it to be unbiased?
Apr 1st, 2010 12:20 PM
Tadao Because that whole cast hasn't worked in ages?
Apr 1st, 2010 10:20 AM
Pentegarn Like any other documentary of that vein (like King of Kong for example) it only tells one side of the story. There are articles about how it went beyond 'creative editing' to cast Duffy in a bad light.

After all, if he were the asshole he were portrayed as in Overnight, why would the entire cast gleefully return to make a sequel with such a small budget?

Tadao "A documentary on the rise and stumble of Troy Duffy, the bartender-cum-filmmaker who was swept up by Miramax's Harvey Weinstein to turn his script for The Boondock Saints into a feature film."

It'll have to get that some time, I'm almost out of time and back at the GF's.
Apr 1st, 2010 12:40 AM
Grislygus TADAO you're the other documentary geek around these parts; while we're on the subject of the Boondock Saints, you should watch Overnight
Mar 31st, 2010 11:52 PM
Pentegarn I was actually thinking watching them back to back like that might be detrimental to the enjoyment of the 2nd one. There was a lot of schtick in the 2nd one like you said though, I know some people were put off by that
