We all know slurs are only fun and effective IRL. A lot of this interaction with vince goes against those new board rules doesn't it? In fact, max's whole philosophy for this board goes against some of those policys right? Not that I'm anti-humor or pro-vince here. I'm not fond of 10 threads in a row all full of vince quotes though. Then again the board was back to normal and here I am bumping this to the top. |

Yes, they can sometimes get old, but more often than not, they keep us reminded of the pure stupidity that is Vinth so we do not take his opinions seriously. And now that I have read these personal attacks on Max, whatever shred of respect I once gave Vinth is gone down the proverbial porcelain pee-hole. I get what your saying. I enjoy the sarcasm and the occasional smart ass remark (I make a lot) I just noticed that half the threads are dedicated to sniping at Vince and not a real debate. Quote:

I could. My feeling is that none of these forums are for being serious, becuase they're all Mockery. The two things aren't exclusive and there's as much serious debate here as there always is, it's just currently punctuated with a lot of chin music. I feel one of the best ways to adress serious issues is comedy. I think the best thing to do when confronted with something really awful is laugh, if you can. It's like that Star Trek episode where Kirk and the Klingon guy stop fighting and laugh at the creature of pure energy of the week that's been feeding off their fighting. Laughing at evil shit robs it of potency. I do honestly concider what you and Helm have said. But it's not like you should feel compelled to read threads that are wholly dedicated to mocking Vinth. You know which ones they are, skip 'em. If you feel his foo-fah, or mine for that matter is muddying a thread, ignore it and respond to the last intelligent post. I use the boards for language/comedy/communication experiments. Some of that is straight debate. But most of it isn't. Sure, this could be a flamewar and would be, if not for the fact that Vinth takes himself seriously, and sees himself as a very brilliant political animal. That means he need to be mocked here, in the politics forum. I explain this at length out of respect. But I am who I am. Love me, love my dog. Know what I'm saying? |

OK, listen. I usually stay away from these threads because it really has nothing to do with me. However, I feel the need to say something now. If I am stepping out of bounds, let me know and I'll shut up and go back to what I usually do. Isn't this supposed to for serious discussions? Every thread either is made specifically to point out something stupid Vince said, or degenerates into berating him. Isn't that basically a flamewar? Isn't there a specific section for that sort of thing? I'm not defending Vince. He does say some dumb assed things. What is bugging me is that a board that has some really intelligent discussions and some pretty good insight is falling into a 3rd grade snipe fest. Can't you just ignore him? |
