You have to understand the guy who wrote this doesen't really listen to music, he just judges the music by the people who stereotypically listen to it. Trashing stuff like Bitches Brew and calling John Coltrane "Musical Masterbation." Saying the Dead were always out of tune. I garauntee this guy wouldn't know if a band was in or out of tune. I think I read under one of his posts too saying that all live albums suck. He probably says this because every concert hes ever been to hes gotten his ass kicked, and whenever he hears a live recording he gets flashbacks. I follow a strict policy that if a band isn't good live, they aren't good AT ALL. |

He's right about Trout Mask Replica. It's music for people like you (who otherwise have very little tolerance for the avant garde side of progressive music) to show to your friends and go "it's wierd, isn't it? And I have it!". It could be Thrakkattakk by King Crimson, or it could be Tales of Topographic Oceans by Yes and you wouldn't know the difference. And Neubauten are indeed an aquired taste. |

I saw that a looooooooooong time ago. I'm not pissed about him not liking Combat Rock, because he has some valid points about what's wrong with it. But screw him for not liking Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart. |
