Florida has both, actually, but the vast majority of large lizards there are alligators. Louisiana I think does NOT have any crocodiles. They would always tell us how to tell them apart when I'd visit because alligators are less aggressive and thus, as a rule, never attack humans as crocodiles will regardless of size variation.
So, yeah, after a summer of walking up to alligators for AWESOME PICTURES after careful analysis of what anatomical features made them NOT crocodiles, I was somewhat amused to read an article that talked about how Florida's ecological collapse has caused alligators to start attacking humans.

Yeah, when we stole it it was called the Union George, but that wasn't British enough, so we changed it to Union Jack.

Dreadfully smart Georgian girl I sorta-know (she's half Russian, I confess) went from jailbait stalker of mine to fantastic brainiac I lamented for her having stopped stalking me to girl I met for coffee on campus to celebrate her admission to U(C) to girl who decided she'd voice her desire to copulate with me once I'd left her state to girl for whom I made a "learning German" mix cd to girl who failed to reciprocate with a "learning Russian" mix cd to girl who now only tolerates my rare IMs on even rarer occasions.
