watermellon_monster pig's arse only mute slashers can be scary; I've seen Dr. Phibes and this man is a murderous master!his voice isn't as creepy as the reproachful stare he gives his victims though

Geggy Since when was Freddy Krueger ever scary? The guy was freaking hilarious! I can't believe you guys didn't see the humor aspect of "Nigthmare on Elm Street" films.

Clive Barker films are scary as hell. Even though Hellraiser films aren't viewed as suspense films, it's based on love, romance, death and the pain that comes in between them. Candyman was the spine chilling, underwear drenching type of film I'd like to see more of.

I have seen that movie. I had to shut it off. Not because it was too gross, but because it was just plain borring. Really with all the foolishly grusome things Ed Gein did how could they have fucked it up that much. Deranged I hear is much better telling of the Ed Gein story. In all honestly though I just wanted to take that damn Ed Gein and pitch it out the window, bud.

Well, don't take my word for it, I just rented it and saw it once on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Somehow the movie just didn't stuck into my mind very well. I think the director just failed to get some suspense into it.

Hey, 2 wasn't that bad if you know that it's a horror comedy, 3 isn't horrible and 4.....well...I've never seen 4 and I don't plan to. Of course the new tcm will suck. There is no need to remake classics. They keep saying "less gory, more thrilling remake of the 1978 classic". If you've seen the original you know it doesn't have that much gore to begin with. They've got one of the bitches from 7th heaven and it'll most likely be rated pg-13 so they can market it to fucking kids too.

Ninjavenom One of the characters from Silence of the Lambs as well. I saw a book about him today, when i was in this alternativey bookstorey thing. They had a whole murder and crime scene photo book section.

Zomboid They loosely based buffalo bill, leatherface, AND norman bates on of ed gein.

Edit: Dumbass error
Mar 8th, 2003 02:32 PM
FeuerAffe Wasn't Ed Gein the inpiration for Buffalo Bill or whatever his name was? Making a suit of skin and all that? :/
Mar 8th, 2003 11:12 AM
Ninjavenom He was based off a real person, Ed Gein. Leatherface was also based off of him.
Mar 8th, 2003 11:07 AM
kellychaos What about scary guys that CAN be real ... like Hannibal Lecter?I'm talking more about his character in "Silence Of The Lambs". They took too many liberities with his character after that.

ditto, when I saw it a couple of years back (I was about 9) I was scared to take showers for a couple of weeks because I was scared he would come out of the shower and that he'd eat me. Freddy Krueger can't beat that in a million years.

Zomboid The only scene in IT that was fucking creepy was when he came outta the locker room floor.
Mar 7th, 2003 03:24 PM
Glorfindel Nah... Freddy Krueger are not so scary IMO...
Murderer in Horror Movies who talks are always less scary then thoose who not talk (Jason and Michael Myers)

But most scary of all is Sadako from the japanese movie "Ringu" (the movie that the american movie "The Ring" is based on).

I've seen hundreds of horrormovies, but Sadako beats the crap of all other murderers... and she's a little girl! (maybe that's why she is so scary)
