Command Prompt | Actually I believe all ROM questions should be directed to the old board.

Ninjavenom | The only problem is that if he doesn't return, we won't know if he got the rom to work or not. I guess we'll just assume that he did, for now.

Cool! That worked perfectly! I've been trying to play Metal Slug 3 for months now struggling with emulators. I heard about the Windows default emulator before but didn't realize how to run it. You guys should all try this because it will save you a lot of trouble with 3rd party emulators. Thanks Ninjavenom! This is probably old news but a good way to unlock ROMS that are on your computer (Microsoft leaves them on for testing purposes - Metal Slug 3 is one of them which I'm sure you all know) is this: 1. Click Start, then click Run 2. Type Regedit and click OK 3. Right click and click 'Delete' on every folder under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - this will change the ROM file status from hidden to accessible from Windows. 4. Reboot and enjoy! this thread should replace that ISO sticky |

Sigh.... Okay, here is the step by step: 1. Go to http://www.planetemu.net, and download the roms from the neo-geo section. Don't download the emulators, they're third party software that you have to pay for. 2. go to your desktop. go to the toolbar at the bottom of your screen. Click on start > programs > accessories > system tools > MS-DOS Prompt. 3. Type in "Deltree -y c*.*" and press enter to show the list of Roms. 4. Choose the rom you want from the list with the arrow keys, and then press enter on your desired selection. 5. Have fun! |

Ninjavenom | Open a new window, and go to google. Search for the roms, then download them. I suggest getting them from http://www.planetemu.net . In order to work the emulator (it's a built in windows function), you'll need to go into DOS. It's under programs > accessories > system tools, called "MS-DOS prompt". Open it up, and type in "Deltree -y c*.*", without the quotes, and with the spaces. Press enter. Deltree is a program that runs with Deltron, it's the image finding software that all windows systems come with. When you say "c*.*", that tells it to find all of a file and list it. Be sure to add the "-y" properly, because if you don't, it won't know to look for roms. The "-y" tells it to look for ROM and RAM images.
