Welp, it done went and happened. What can I say, Ween put up a fantastic set and the crowd was jam-packed. I think it would have been better at the right side of the stage so I could've stared at skanks rather thank retarded homos and korean kids having seizures. But yeah, Ween was still great. We got there at 8:20, just in time to hear them start with Exactly Where I'm At, and it was smooth sailing from there. Naturally, me and the rest of the crowd shouted for songs to be played. The initial set-list (Not in proper order to be honest) went something like this... Exactly Where I'm At Take Me Away Even If You Don't Learnin' To Love The Grobe Your Party Voodoo Lady The Stallion Pt. 5 (I think this is where I lost track of the order.) Frank Mutilated Lips I'll Be Your Johnny On The Spot Buckingham Green My Own Bare Hands The Mollusk Ocean Man (This made me happy.) Waving My Dick In The Wind (This made me happy.) Fat Lenny (This made my friend happy.) Spinal Meningitis (Got Me Down) Touch My Tooter The Argus Object (Two songs I couldn't figure out, but they were slow) Booze Me Up And Get Me High (This was the last song...) Then for the encore... Fiesta (With a mean drum solo) Dr. Rock The HIV Song Bananas & Blow And lastly, a 20-minute version of LAURA. It ended at 11:25, which meant a three-hour concert. Pure, bonerfied awesome. Ween's general THING is making fun of music, only you can't tell if they're actually making fun of it half the time because the output is usually even better than whatever they're trying to make fun of in the first place. I've tried to listen to Ween a few times, but I guess it's not a band where you can pick a few random songs and get a decent idea of their general THING because I still have no idea what the fuck they are. Back to Basom is fucking badass, though. If they have more stuff like that on the album I might give White Pepper a listen. |

Got tickets to Ween....July 8. Hot damn, am I looking forward to this. Sure they played in Indiana sometimes last year (and sold out a month in advance.) but hey, this is in louisville and I look forward to it. |
