Sparticus Beef Roaster Well, back in my day, when I was just a youngin', they called the crab-traps quite a different name. I believe it was "Nantucket Nancy" who invented it actually, and had first called it Them Red Yellar Claw Killer Catcher. No wait... my mistake, they were Nantucket Nancy's Traperoons. Gah, my memory is so foggy. It's hard remembering things from about 7 decades ago when you're 406 years old, but now that I think about it, I recall the name being Worcester Cardboard. No. Blegh, forget it.

Kramer did it![/quote]

Exactly, my dumbass friend kept pulling the crab-trap too fast and never caught a thing. It's even harder when you're doing it from a pier that's about 13 feet high from the water.

Daphne hahaha, that makes me think of the scene in the Abyss where the crab comes out of that dead guy's mouth.

Mockery Yep, I did that too Max. It was so much fun. I would eat some fried chicken for dinner, and then tie what was left to a rope. Soon enough, there would be some creature eating your food. Normally it was a crab, but I've also caught eels and water snakes that way.

mburbank Dole make me ha ha-ing with the laughter.

We used to troll for Crabs. You tie a piece of leftover chicken to a rope, drop it over the side, drive real slow for a while and then haul up the crabs.

Mockery I practically grew up on a sailboat and we went crabbing all the time. They're simply called "crab traps". I even remember the signs on them at the local store. There's some really nice ones too that are coated in plastic so they don't rust on you.

Crabbing was always so much fun.

I need a word.

I'm at work and I don't have my dictionary, and I need to know what something is called in English. What I'm thinking about is a kind of crab-trap. You put bait in it and throw it into the ocean, and then the next day you pull it back up and there will be crabby goodness. Over here they're called teine or ruse.

Anybody?
