I had the same problem with this game  Also with the PC version of FF8. I couldnt get either of them to work so i bought a PS1

| Guitar Woman | Hook up a game controller to your laptop and use it to get to the menu and remap the keys. If you can't because your laptop wont support joysticks, then you are boned. | |

well lotsa gamepads have lil remap utilities that come with them. at least the last one i got did :o i can only guess there is some reason you wanted the pc version over the psx one. :/

Yes, but if he goes on a long trip, he might get the urge to play FF7, and then not be able to play it because it's not on his laptop. Happened to me a couple of times.

| Guitar Woman | I liked the materia system, it didn't cost as much as the faggy magic system in FF1-5(? haven't played it yet) because you could "recycle" materia onto your other characters every time you mastered it and it created a new one. Much better than having to buy all those costly spells seperately for your party. | |

Dustin, get over yourself already. I think you're takin this way too seriously. "Just more pointless discussion between people who only just discovered the FF series when 7 came out." I live for pointless discussions.  For the Official Record, I rented the original Final Fantasy, but the free copy of Dragon Warrior I got with my Nintendo Power (re?)subscription got a lot more play. Don't you dare try to out old-skool me - I've forgotten more about old games then most of these punks will ever know. :P
