mburbank I just want to reiterate that "He-Man" is for closeted Gays. Not out gays, deeply deeply closeted, shame driven , self hating moth ball reeking gays.

Jeanette X I would kill to be able to play a blood magus. Among other things, those guys can "awaken blood"...temporarily give the blood sentience, and it all tries to escape the body at once! Kickass.
Nov 12th, 2003 10:36 PM
Protoclown I didn't realize we had so many D&D players on the boards.
Nov 12th, 2003 07:56 PM
The_Rorschach I love you Vibe. . .But no. Just no.

That's broken, pure and simply

D&D

I'm playing in a completely psychotic game at the moment.....
I'm plyaing a sundered woman created on the half-devil template. Complete with psionics.

You know the game is going to be out of control when you generate the character, and you as the rogue have a strength of 26 and a dex of (no shit) 33
Nov 12th, 2003 07:32 PM
The_Rorschach "And Ror, this is the goody two-shoes paladin who wants to go darkside and become a blackguard one day??"

Yeah the very same. Apparantly Forsakers are like immune to magical effects and weapons, and have an Improved Sunder feat, and his "character concept" is to make a character capable of hitting the Planes and killing Gods and taking their portfolios.

"Also, I think it's hilarious how we've commandeered this thread."

Whether it is arguing She-ra vs He-Man (all about the Princess of Power) or Role Playing, anything was better than what it started out as
Nov 12th, 2003 06:50 PM
Zhukov I'm embarassed to say, but I prefered She-ra too.
Nov 12th, 2003 11:52 AM
mburbank Nowhere near as deffinitively as He-man makes you gay. If she was called She-Woman, then yes, deffinitely instant Lesbian.
Nov 12th, 2003 11:37 AM
Jeanette X I like She-ra.
Does that mean I'm a lesbian?
Nov 12th, 2003 10:35 AM
mburbank And that would be He-Man's pedestal, Jar-jar Vinth? You are as much of a fan boy as the biggest fan boy here, fan-boy. You just think you aren't which makes you even more of a dork-ass fan boy than you would be otherwise.

He-man is strictly for deeply closeted homos. I mean honestly. 'He-man' . That would be lame if Rob Liffield wrote it. 'He-man'. Seriously, could it get gayer?
Nov 12th, 2003 07:55 AM
VinceZeb To whoever said the new He-Man sucks: Fuck you. One of the best cartoons on today that was actually made in the past 10 years (screw that anime BS)

George Lucas never had it to begin with. The only reason he lost anything is because people put Star Wars on such a freaking pedastal, one that it never deserved in the first place.

Protoclown I think 3rd edition kicks ass. At first I didn't like it, I didn't want to play it at all, but I think that was because I had invested so much in 2nd edition. But it really is a fantastic, very streamlined system.

And Ror, this is the goody two-shoes paladin who wants to go darkside and become a blackguard one day??

Also, I think it's hilarious how we've commandeered this thread.

many satanists are satenists just to look cool.

(note there are probobly real non-cool symbol satanist as well)
I know this thread has gone in a different direction, but please, dude, get a fucking clue.

And...AD&D 3rd edition. Blows my mind. I thought 2nd edition with Skills and Powers and Combat and Tactics was already way too complex. Are people such uncreative character designers and roleplayers that they really need more rules and abilities and pre-designated options for stuff? Whatever happened to choosing between three races and four classes and filling in all the fun details straight from your own mind? (and DM's discretion for extenuating circumstances--flanking, critical hits, etc.--instead of a table and die roll for every single thing)
Nov 12th, 2003 01:59 AM
The_Rorschach You sound like someone who has looked at the 3rd Edition book and Monter's Manual (or Fiend Folio which is what I have) but doesn't know anything about the rules or how the game is played. :/

btw Proto thanks for the advice. I've never heard anything like that, but Eric is the sort that would use it if he could. With a fourth level cleric, he tried to justify 96 points of damage once and the kids I'm playing with still won't him live it down -I wish I'd seen it.

As it is, he plans on making his Paladin a future Blackguard/ Forsaker.

Is that just for rogues? I just got sneak attack with my shade monk, he took a level as an assasin, now he's a coup de grace-ing machine, especially since our partys cleric is a drow, and shades can see through the darkness effect drow can cast.
Nov 12th, 2003 12:41 AM
Jeanette X Speaking of rogues, I can't decide whether I want to be a thief-acrobat from Song and Silence, or a street acrobat from Quitessitial Monk. They both seem so damn cool...doing backflips off walls, leaping from roof to roof...
Nov 12th, 2003 12:30 AM
Protoclown I've never liked psionics, I've always felt they were cheesy.

Speaking of cheesy, in the Book of Exalted Deeds they have vows that a good character can take, like a vow of non-violence, where you can never do anything but subdual damage to another living creature. But you get all kinds of insane powers and abilities for making that sacrifice. So much so that it completely unbalances the game. So you'll want to make sure your paladin never learns of this.
Nov 11th, 2003 10:54 PM
The_Rorschach I never get flanking brother. I'm the tank, when we run into combat encounters, li'l Lord Donovon is all by his lonesome while everyone else supports with spells/ranged attacks. . .Except our Paladin who is a 'pacifist' and is trying to enlighten us as to the wickedness of our kill/rape/plunder methodology. He's there for the roleplaying aspect apparantly, basing his character on someone from Wuthering Heights.

AChimp Dude, you can get a sneak attack everytime you successfully hit something while flanking it! You need to use that. It has saved my party's ass more than once.
Nov 11th, 2003 08:57 PM
The_Rorschach My plan is 13 levels of Rogue, and then maybe five levels of Divine Champion. It's a Faerun campaign.

Assuming of course I even live 13 levels. I die every time we play. In fact, if I didn't have the *Die Hard* feat, I think I would die every combat encounter. I play the only rogue never to to use their sneak attack.

We are pitiful.
Nov 11th, 2003 07:55 PM
AChimp I'm actually just thinking of multi-classing to a cleric and then crying out to Kord to send down his avatar to save me all the time.

I know it seems gay, but try to sign up... In order to be a real satanist, you have to take a quiz
Nov 11th, 2003 07:15 PM
The One and Only... It's all about psionics, baby. All about psionics.
Nov 11th, 2003 07:10 PM
AChimp I rolled for 3 hit points twice in a row. I need wieghted dice.
Nov 11th, 2003 06:56 PM
Protoclown My level 13 barbarian has 156 hit points and nothing can kill him.
