you sure you aren't a vegan, champ?

besides, vegans get protein from alternative sources.

here's an article about vegetable vs animal protein.

i don't eat anymore for a variety of reasons. the main one being that the thought of consuming an animal that has been shot up with god only knows how many antibiotics and hormones makes me get all whoozy feeling. i also believe that since i can get my nutrition from other sources that there is no reason for me to consume a cow, just because it tastes good. it's just not nice.

that's what i think, anyways.

TeRRaNuSER im eating a chicken pita its delicious

O71394658 In all seriousness, I think the stuff that is happening to animals terrible, but the fact remains that I just simply don't trust PeTA. I know that a lot of time was put into that production, and the absolute worst areas were shown. Obviously there's a bias, so taking everything they say as absolute truth, I have trouble swallowing (NPI).

When I first got to China I tried to stay vegetarian, but since vegetarianism is almost unheard of there (the exception being Buddhists), I gave in completely after about 6 weeks. Now I don't go out of my way to eat meat and I never cook or handle it myself, but I'll eat it maybe once a week or less. So I guess the answer is no.

i seriously wasnt being sarcastic. im trying to put it together in my mind wether an that lived humanely would be more ethical to eat on my end?
I don't really know what you're saying here. By ethical do you mean how guilty you should feel? If I were to be eaten after my death, I know I would prefer it if I was dealt with humanely beforehand.

how are those hindu people so smart then?

AChimp Chickens are cannibals, that's why the pointy shit on their beaks is removed (like someone said above). Cows will also gore each other occassionally if their horns aren't removed. I know this because half my relatives live on a farm.

I don't really care how animals are treated. All that matters to me is how well their meat is taken care of.

TeRRaNuSER food thats treated humainly tastes better because its not just rotting in a cage eating hormones for 5 years

Just because the end result is death doesn't mean pain that could be avoided should be inflicted. Say your mother has a terminal illness but decides she'd like to donate a kidney - should an anaesthetic not be used because she'll be dead soon anyway?

I had a similar experience... I watched a show on some pig slaughterhouse one night when I was very low. It was disgusting... all these pink bodies crowded together in filth... piglets getting injected with all sorts of drugs... the conditions were enough to make me sick alone and that was before the actual slaughter. I'm not sure if it was the pot, but those pigs resembled naked humans so much it weirded me out. For me the decision to become a vegelesbian had nothing to do with animal rights (life feeds on life, I didn't write the rules), it was just that the unsanitary living conditions and hormones and drugs that animals have to endure made me disgusted at the thought of consuming them. After watching that I was vegetarian for almost six years, the last 3 of which I was vegan.

6 months in China took care of that though.

Pub Lover Fuck you all with your narrow scope of what a Vegan is!

I hate animals more than any off you meat eaters could possibly ever do.

Yay! I love being drunk!

TeRRaNuSER mMmmMm.... grinder paste
Sep 7th, 2003 09:08 AM
FartinMowler I was watching a show about chicken farmers and it was really disgusting. They have a dude that checks the chicks and if it's male it goes into a grinder to become a paste that they sell to the mink farmers for feeding the Minks. They also have to cut off the beak of the chicken or they will attack each other and if they gang up on one unlucky chicken they keep jabbing at the rectum and pull out it's intestines. I still eat meat but the process is very
