Royal Tenenbaum I love early Elvis Costello. This Years Model is the best.

Sicktodeathmx I really like him, but I really really like their bass player. I think he is very talented, and can make any song seem a bit happier with his influence.

My Aim is True

I was first introduced to this album while weeding through 200 records given to me for free. I had heard of Costello, and the cover was cool and all. I popped in on my record player, and it was fucking outstanding.

So, I finally bought it on CD, the new double disc that came out. Of course, it's still outstanding. No denying Costello's genius. It's amazing that he can make fairly coventional pop/rock songs with great hooks, well -crafted and all, but still have very uncoventional lyrics, that are exeedibgly intelligent, creative, and witty. Red Shoes has some of the greatest lyrics to ever have been on the radio, not to mention one of the best pop songs to ever be written.

So, now that I'm done creaming my pants about this album, what's everybody else think of Costello, and how is This Year's Model. I hear it's a better album.
