Jeanette X Is this the same relative that send you the "outrage" over the Ramadan postage stamp?

The Unseen Country music came from the south, not the west.

So, if most cowboys were black, then technically, we can blame black folks for country western music, right?

mburbank Not that I think your reasoning isn't sound, but I'm guessing you're talking straight out your ass.

I think it's an interesting guess and I think it bears looking into, but I think it just shot out your blowhole with a lot of other sea water and whale mucus.

The One and Only... Do you know why this is the case? Well, think about it. Who lived out in the West? Those who were predominantly poor - the blacks and immigrants. You can't blame them; free land was a lot more tempting for them than for more affluent white folks.

El Blanco Actually, a significant number of cowboys were black. Many ex-slaves went out west to try and make their own lives.

This also applied to immigrants.

Hate to spoil your image, but they weren't all John Wayne.

Drew Katsikas Do you have fun making up facts?
Jan 25th, 2004 07:18 PM
The One and Only... I was being serious. If you look at the facts, the majority of cowboys appear to have been black.
Jan 25th, 2004 07:16 PM
Drew Katsikas Or just be completley unfuckingfunny
Jan 25th, 2004 07:13 PM
The One and Only... To sow havoc and destruction... er, something like that.

Drew Katsikas What in the good fuck is your mission?

The One and Only... Burbank has only hit the tip of the iceburg. The really funny part is that most cowboys were ******s!!!

mburbank See, Cowboys and Muslims isn't even a remotely funny punchline, but cowboys and ******s is hysterical, especially if the character remians an Arab and not an African American. The point comes across but we have the added attraction that the Texan is so stupid and biggoted he can't tell one ethnic group he hates from another. Oh, and then the American Indian sees some trash outside and sheds a single tear.

Oh, and in joke number two, if W. shrieks "Cowboys and ******s! COWBOYS AND ******S!" as he drowns, and you add the chocie of vidoetape to the colr/black and white dilema, I think you have something.

george joke#1: typical of the racist undercurrent that this counrty ALWAYS has. muslims are just new to the list, i have actually heard that joke with ******s instead of muslims.

joke#2: no one will ever realize just how many people have died because of george w bush. thats what hell is for.

This shit pissed me off.

I just got this joke email from my aunt. It's the most offensive joke I've heard in a long time.

Three strangers strike up a conversation in the
airport passenger lounge in Bozeman, Montana,
awaiting their flights. One is an American Indian
passing through from Lame Deer. Another is a Cowboy
on his way to Billings for a livestock show and the
third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student,
newly arrived at Montana State University
from the Middle East. Their discussion drifts to
their diverse cultures. Soon, the two Westerners learn
that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim
and the conversation falls into an uneasy lull.

The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots
on a magazine table and tips his big sweat-stained hat
forward over his face. The wind out side is blowing
tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is flapping;
but still no plane comes. Finally, the American Indian
clears his throat and softly he speaks, "At one time
here, my people were many, but sadly, now we are
few." The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans
forward, "Once my people were few," he sneers, "and
now we are many. Why do you suppose that is?" The
Montana cowboy shifts his toothpick to one side of his
mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says
in a drawl, "That's 'cause we ain't played Cowboys
and Muslims yet, but I do believe it's a-comin'."

So I replied with this joke that I received from one of my coworkers the other day.

Scruples & Moral dilemma

Here's a dilemma for you.... With all your honor and dignity what would you do?

This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. Please don't answer it without giving it some serious thought. By giving an honest answer you will be able to test where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation, where you will have to make a decision one way or the other.

Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous.

Please scroll down slowly and consider each line - this is important for the test to work accurately.

You're in Florida...In Miami, to be exact... There is great chaos going on around you, caused by a hurricane and severe floods. There are huge masses of water all over you. You are a CNN photographer and you are in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless.

You're trying to shoot very impressive photos. There are houses and people floating around you, disappearing into the water. Nature is showing all its destroying power and is ripping everything away with it.

Suddenly you see a man in the water, he is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken away by the masses of water and mud. You move closer. Somehow the man looks familiar.

Suddenly you know who it is - it's George W. Bush!

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him away, forever. You have two options. You can save him or you can take the best photo of your life. So you can save the life of George W. Bush, or you can shoot a Pulitzer prize winning photo, a unique photo displaying the death of one of the world's most powerful men.

And here's the question (please give an honest answer):

Would you select color film, or rather go with the simplicity of classic black and white?
