I have all 3

And yeah, it was an addictive game even though it was so short

AChimp Keen Dreams wasn't bad, it was just... different. I really missed the gun.

Some parts of that game were really challenging, actually. The final boss is impossible to beat if you don't pass the levels properly and get those bomb things.

Zomboid I found a shareware version of crystal caves: http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/104

Edit: "Avoid the Noid" too: http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=1656 . Keep in mind, that's not the same as the nes game.

FS Duck Tales: Quest for Gold

The Commander Keen series. The Secret Agent series. Crystal Caves (if you find it, send it my way). Bio Menace. Duke Nukem 2.

I guess most of those aren't free- or abandonware, but the software companies have had their chances. FREEDOM!

Zero Signal Wasteland

One of my all-time favorites.

IdiotSavant Just about anything from Home of the Underdogs (http://www.the-underdogs.org) is good, though not all of its content is downloadable (only the truly abandonware, no illegal cracks or whatnot).

If your looking for a good 1st person shooter with some cool RPG type twists, check out System Shock 2 while your there.

timrpgland The Ultima series. Not all of them are abandonware quite yet though.
