I'm not doing an art/writing contest this time because I've already done those and want to do something different. I'm thinking I'm gonna go with the "Make an action figure out of household items" contest. And no, you don't have to know how to sculpt to be able to win it. The playing field is pretty much level when it comes to this one. People would basically just take whatever crap they can find in their house and come up with a way to turn it into something interesting/funny/whatever. The contest will probably last a month and a half (to give people plenty o' time). I'll be sure to let you guys know if and when the contest is going to start for sure. -RoG- |

How about a scavenger hunt kinda thing? You make a list of items people have to look for, and you award points for each depending on how hard they are to find, and you have people send the stuff to you via mail or something. I think more people might do that than create a toy figure. Or "take you picture" contest kinda thing... that's kinda lamer though.. |

HOW ABOUT A FUNNISET MOM COMPETITION SHOW OFF!!!! EACH ENTRY WILL CONSIST OF A HOME VIDEO OF MOMS DOING THE FUNNIEST THINGS IMAGINABLE, LIKE FALLING DOWN, OR CRACKING JOKES OF A MOM, OR DRESSING LIKE A BABY AND TALKING ADULT, OR ANYTHING ESLE THAT A MOM COULD DO TO MAKE YOU CRACK A SMILE AND JUST AMKE YOU LAUGH THE RULES SHOULD INCLUDE A RULE ABOUT CUSSING... Ninja's movie horror movie poster thing sounds good. For me especially, I get to draw many many many many many many many entrails.  Or maybe a 'Draw your own Monster' contest.  where you have to draw a demon, that looks fit to torture people.

Well, if it was something I wanted, I would suggest an essay contest because me good at righting. However, although many people want that action figure, I would not take it if it were free. If I wanted a toy that gives me horribly, unending nightmares, I would buy something that does it unintentionally. Like this. That action figure makes the bile in my esophogus rush to the back of my teeth and spurt out of my clenched lips in a slim, green trickle along the side of my mouth. You people and your disgusting, emaciated tortured dolls are sick as hell. If you freaks want to play with an action figure covered in blades, hooks, and chains, that's fine. But don't offer it as a prize in a contest I would enter. So make the contest something I would be too lazy to do, like blowing up your neighbor's car.

pickleman villain might be good, if you're willing to shoot for that I definitely don't want it to be PickleMan related... I'd rather the contest somehow pertain to the prize. And building a custom figure could be potentially funny, but I don't know how many people would enter the contest. But I gotta admit, seeing photos of what people create with household items could be pretty funny... "TIN FOIL MAN!" or some shit. most people are lazy even with bigger prizes, so a 12 inch toy (although cool....but not as cool as venal anatomica ) will probably get less people. While most people are lazy, the whole thing about bigger prizes getting less people is definitely wrong. The Postal and the Mutsu contests both generated quite a large chunk o' entries. Keep the ideas coming and I'm sure we'll figure out something. |

Yeah, that stuff sounds cool, but keep in mind the contests never really generate THAT much interest and most people are lazy even with bigger prizes, so a 12 inch toy (although cool....but not as cool as venal anatomica ) will probably get less people. I think i'd very much like to win this contest. I'll CREATE my own tortured souls figure if it will get me that Talisac. I think that creating your own Tortured Souls character would be fun to draw, but people with less vivid imaginations wouldn't be very good contestants, and also, i don't think there's very many ways that you'll get good "humourous" results when the victims of torture are involved. I can assure that you'll get at least six entries with phallic imaplement as a major theme. A pickleman villain might be good, if you're willing to shoot for that, and if Pox wants to draw him, though the prize seems kinda like a non-sequitor. I think i'd like to see a "pitch your own horror movie" idea, with a drawing of a character, a scene, or a mock-movie poster, and some sort of little description with it. Surely enough people here could come up with good results, and it would be sensible considering the prize, and it also offers a lot of freedom and still has room for humor in it. |

Possible new contest. In need of ideas... I have this big 12" 'Talisac' Limited Edition Tortured Souls figure and there's just no room for it here in the apartment. It's still in the original box 'n everything, so I figured it would make a great prize for a new contest on I-Mockery (when they were in stores, they were selling for like $20-$40). Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions for a new contest on I-Mockery. What would people have to do in order to win it, etc. Keep in mind, it can't be anything too demanding (ie: "First person to blow up their neighbor's car wins a prize!", cuz let's face it... most people are pretty damned lazy even if there's really cool prizes involved. So if you have any ideas for something that would make a great contest here on I-Mockery, post it here.
