sspadowsky I just downloaded some evanescence stuff. I like what I hear so far, and I'm not typically attracted to this style of music. Lacuna Coil is next in the queue. If LC is this good, I think I'll like 'em both.

Why pay to see something live that I wouldn't even listen to on CD?
Suit yourself. I dislike most of Benediction's stuff, but live they where a riot.

Helm Basically, Lacuna Coil are more impressive live than they are on CD and that's because Christina Scabia(sp?) has the makings of a great frontwoman(eh). If Zero saw Evawhatthefuck live he might have a more even understanding of both acts.

As far as I'm concerned, Lacuna Coil just write better songs than evaugh.

And last time we argued about this, the only song of theirs you had heard was "Bring Me To Life". So basically, you were judging them and her vocal range based on one song.

I love Evanescence, and I like Lacuna Coil. Singers are what always make the band for me, and that's why Evanescence will get my $$$ and Lacuna Coil will get my occasional mp3 download until I see something of theirs that really sparks my interest.
I downloaded the entire album. I just don't see what makes them so special or why people seem to give in to the hype that they are anything but a mediocre pop "metal" band.

No, it's nuts if you really believe that.

"Singers are what always make the band for me, and that's why Evanescence will get my $$$ and Lacuna Coil will get my occasional mp3 download until I see something of theirs that really sparks my interest."

That is so hilarious.

You are calling Lacuna Coil's singer bland and unimpressive, yet you praised Evanescence's singer's totally monotone and mediocre range and quality as something to write home about. You are out of your fucking mind.

Jeanette X I saw a video for Evanesence and I honestly thought it was Lacuna Coil until the end.

After seeing Lacuna Coil open for Opeth the other night...

...I can to the conclusion that this is the band that Evanesence wishes they were. Evanesence = Lacuna Coil with 5% of the talent. However, Lacuna Coil's female since has some REAL vocal range.
