Evil Robot II I just found out that Cablevision in NYC pays landlords a percentage of their tenants cable bills under the pretense that they will not allow competing services, satellite dishes, and even antennas in their building.

Tadao My brother has FIOS everything and it's awesome. No one else in my family or any of my friends are allowed to have FIOS though and they keep interrupting my television shows telling me that I should buy their superior product.

Public utilities Vs. Streaming video

Am I alone here in never being able to watch a youtube video all the way through without stopping? I keep getting ads for netflix and crap like that but it would take days to buffer enough to watch the first 30 minutes of anything. Now "they" want want me to use "thier" new "cloud" to store music and stream it to my "device" but there are bandwidth caps and slow speeds.

Also by "cloud" do they mean web server? because I've had one of those for years now and I never call it a "cloud" its a GOD DAMN SERVER.

So why do they tell me to stop using so much bandwidth and in the same sentence say that nothing should be stored on my computer?

I think Netflix is gay, I think "cloud" is gay, I think no american public utility will upgrade from 50 year old copper with ant colonies in each junction box

I also think FIOS is not real as Ive never met anybody who has it and when I called up verizon and explained that I want to move somewhere they have fios they told me they do not keep a list of areas that are served by them. WTF

Also cablevision has this service where you can share a vcr mounted to a pole with 40 other homes. The VCR also breaks 5 minutes in each movie and cannot be rewound. You are charged $5 even if you didn't get see the movie.
