If any Star Wars game can count I think Kingdom Hearts should too. I mean how many characters/locations/plot elements in that game were taken from a movie(s)?

Girl Drink Drunk I enjoyed the second, and was amazed by how many of the orginal voice actors signed on for the dialogue, although I though the portrayals of the FF characters were lacking.

pac-man I've got to put Kingdom Hearts out there, though I'm sure plenty would disagree.

Dimnos I liked how you had to test your friends after fights to see if they had turned. They would get all pissed off about you not trusting them lol

pac-man I heard good things about it.

Dimnos Speaking of John Carpenter... what about The Thing on xbox. It was a much better game than what it looked.

I think the best game based on a movie would have to be Goldeneye 64. Too good; probably the best all around game on the Nintendo 64 (I liked OoT more and SM64 as well, but they didn't have multi-player.)
You've got to read both pages, dude. And I would like to give mention to Rockstar's hidden gem, The Warriors and Westwood Studio's Blade Runner. Some capable game studio should tackle John Carpenter's cult classic, They Live.

Dimnos Is everyone forgetting Goldeneye for the 64?

Hmm guess I should really read the OP and not just glance at it....

pac-man Sadly no. Not enough ways to mutilate Fluffy and Uranus either.

Did it have the "Funky Duckman" dance in it?

Phoenix Gamma The Penny Arcade game is actually really good in term of gameplay, and the story's funny if you like their humor.

Also, From Russia With Love is pretty solid. They got all of the actors back for voices (Sean sounds too old, though) and the combat is pretty good. I still prefer Everything or Nothing, but FRWL is really faithful to the movie, save for the new content.

I counter with:

Quote:
There was also a film released in 1989. In an interview, with Capcom game designer Shinji Mikami, it was stated that the game was licensed from the movie. The game and the film were released simultaneously. Sweet Home's trailer is both an advertisement for the movie, and a sales pitch for the game, as it includes footage from both.
The film and video game versions both contain duplicate copies of very specific images. Even more so, specific things, such as the fresco, the skull statue, and the tool, look exactly the same in both the film and the game. More so, the facial appearance of the character portraits in the game mirrors the look of the actors in the movie. It can therefore be assumed that the game was based on the movie (as, were it the other way around, actors who looked exactly like the character portraits in the games would need to be sought).
According to the game credits, the producer for the game is Juzo Itami, who acted in the film.

Girl Drink Drunk I can top that: Street Fighter: the Movie (it's a game based on a movie based on a game!)
JJ. That game was shit.
Super Empire Strikes Back and Shadow of the Empire were pretty good.
