Dr. Boogie I thought he was great as the Punisher. Much better than everyone else in the movie.

I did a weekly for the movie, but we're holding it until after Christmas.

RaNkeri Ray Stevenson has stated that he'd love to continue as Punisher and has suggested that Barracuda would be the next villain.

How did you guys like Stevenson's performance? I haven't seen the film yet, but after seeing the trailers I'm still convinced that he's pretty much the perfect Punisher.

I'm still waiting for a weekly spotlight

Dr. Boogie I'm with Grislygus. It's not my favorite terrible movie, but it's still entertaining. So much painfully bad acting in one movie, so many terrible accents, and nobody said anything.
Dec 10th, 2008 07:44 PM
Grislygus Sure, we split, have at it
Dec 10th, 2008 06:27 PM
Sam I bet that is true. Grislygus can I take your girlfriend to see this movie?
Dec 10th, 2008 06:08 PM
Tadao You only liked it because the action parts made your girlfriends boobs bounce. I bet you take her to all the comedies too.
Dec 10th, 2008 06:00 PM
Sam I HOPE TO SEE THIS SOON.
Dec 10th, 2008 05:37 PM
Grislygus If we're lucky there'll be a sequel and it'll have the Punisher and an aging Rutger Hauer taking on terrorists and an Evil Sylvester Stallone
Dec 10th, 2008 05:34 PM
Grislygus I am proud to have wasted money on a theater ticket
Dec 10th, 2008 04:57 PM
Sam Sounds like a winner to me.
Dec 10th, 2008 01:45 PM
Grislygus I would like to go on record that I love this shitty, shitty movie

Highlights include every single actor hamming it up to a level not seen since the Vincent Price flicks, shitty heavy metal music, the the acrobatic Jamaican meth freak whose feigned Rasta voice was so terrible that it occasionally sounded Scottish, and the Punisher literally punching someone's face in

pac-man More like 3 for 3

Supafly345 I sincerely hope this will be three strikes and you're out for the punisher.

Dimnos So did anyone go see this over the weekend?
Dec 6th, 2008 07:53 PM
pac-man

With the exception of not wearing the skull t-shirt, I think Dolph Lundgren actually looked the most like the Punisher as drawn by John Romita back in the day.

Guitar Woman I'm sick of seeing commercials for this!

They're making the new Punisher based off the MAX series, hence the new 'do and the added gore.

I went with that one because it shows how scrawny he really is.

RaNkeri Ok, some reviews are out already.

Quote:
Punisher: War Zone received negative reviews from film critics. On the film review aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes, the film received a 16% approval rating, based on 25 reviews, with an average rating of 3.8/10. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times awarded the film two out of four stars, writing that the film's only flaw is "that it's disgusting" (many other critics agreed as well that the film is gory and brutally violent). Some critics have praised Ray Stevenson's performance as the Punisher saying that it's the best to date

if you're the person who laughs and applauds at the sight of an old lady's head being turned into a smoking, meaty crater, you're going to fucking love Punisher: War Zone.
seems this might be one of those movies that is panned by critics only because most of them don't seem to be into action films. :/

Let me know how you feel about the movie if/when you've seen it.

Dr. Boogie More like Tom Jane's Addiction. M I rite?
Dec 4th, 2008 09:49 PM
Sam PLUS, WHERE DID HE BUY THAT SHIRT, THE HOT TOPIC?

You kids these days with your stores.
Dec 4th, 2008 07:49 PM
Dr. Boogie He looks like an aging member of the trenchcoat mafia. I went with that one because it shows how scrawny he really is.
Dec 4th, 2008 05:46 PM
10,000 Volt Ghost I think the picture on the left of Tom Jane as the Punisher is a bad one for comparison though. He looks more like John Travolta.

Tom Jane looked like the Punisher?

No way, man. Jane had a decent enough voice for the Punisher, but he had none of the physical presence. Stevenson, on the other hand, has a much better build, along with the slicked-back black hair. Whether or not he can pull off the actual attitude, we'll see.

I'm strangely looking forward to this movie. The last one was so crummy, and this one looks like it could be pretty cheesy (the trailer ends with him aiming a tiny crossbow at the camera?), but I'm still looking forward to it for some reason. But then there's lines like this:

"Sometimes I'd like to get my hands on God."

Ugh.
