I remember reading this shitty comic way back while waiting in line at the BX. I was embarassed at it's shittiness. What I never understood was why the Avengers didn't just fuck up the terrorists themselves, instead of having US servicemembers doing the dirty work. Fuck you Avengers. |

Oh man, Proto do I have a ton of insane indy. comics from the 80's. The worst are and always will be the free comics from cons, and the ones next to the register at a comic shop. I've got this one from the 80's called SKATEMAN (he fights crime on skates, and he's not joking). I have somewhere a comic just titled "NINJA" i got for 50 cents at the PDX comic con. in '89. Let's not forget early Darkhorse. Only about 50% of it was anygood. |

Dr. Boogie | That's because unlike doctors, the Avengers know that you have to unplug your phone when you go on vacation.

mburbank | My favorite part is that cops, doctors and firemen are routinely expected to get up and leave their families on a holiday if they're needed, but the Avengers? Not so much.

Zbu Manowar | I think a further examination of these 'military-only comics' warrants a deeper look. There has got to be some weird nationalism/horribly misguided patriotism in them that could be good for a laugh.

Dr. Boogie | You start with a tennis ball, soak in ammonia overnight, then use a curved knife to remove the green fuzz from the skin, and you've got your base.

Fathom Zero | I have several of the military-only New Avengers comics, if you're interested. There are always some coming out every now and then that they hand out at the Army/Air Force Exchange. Not sure what condition the one's I have are in, but if you ever want a new one, I'm your guy.

He said how right in the intro. Other books, I assume, he exchanged money for. It's something called 'commerce'. |

Protoclown | Darkvare, I mentioned in the article that some guy in the military sent me a copy of this one. People are always emailing me to say that I should do this or that comic.

Dr. Boogie | I think the overriding theme was that the day was saved by four heroes with crappy movies made about them.

darkvare | how did you got your hands on thesse comics proto
Dec 11th, 2007 06:58 PM | ||
Protoclown | Yeah, I think the Surfer probably could have used his godlike and sketchily defined cosmic powers to save the entire day by himself...but he's gotta have a REASON. Or something. I dunno.

Emu | I've never been too clear on the Silver Surfer's powers.

So Ghostrider brought this fancy flash drive, but he's not sure if it'll work? Also, I'm not completely up to date on my superhero knowledge, but couldn't the Silver Surfer have just taken care of everything? I mean, can't that guy fly faster than the speed of light, and through solid matter, and transmogrify shit? |
