Geggy | I'm hoping the celtics will continue to be the underdog in the finals. They've always played better when they're being underestimated. Pretty much like this thread where no one is talking about how great the celtics defense have been in the postseasons. :/

Pentegarn | What's to mention, they haven't really played at all. This is a pro basketball thread, when the Magic start playing that, I might talk about it

Babs | So... no one is even bothering to mention Magic playing shittier than the Cavs?

Cleveland sports fans response was, "Of course he got hurt, we're fucking Cleveland! " |

The repeat of 2008 finals when the C's shut down kobe and the lakers is what happened. Yep, sad that garnett's wooden leg and the aging celtics were too much for the chosen1 and his elbow. |

How the eff did THAT happen? @Pent - when did LeBron actually get injured, and do we know yet how seriously? Because he was a shadow of his regular season self. |

Geggy | Forget it, cavs clearly got owned by the celtics tonight (and most of the series) despite celtics being in foul trouble. Tony allen did a good defensive job on Lebron. Lebron had a slighty better game but his one man show wasn't enough to save the rest of his crappy team. Sorry, folks.

Pentegarn | Not so much hoodwinked as Lebron is playing hurt and the rest of the team is demoralized by this fact

Geggy | Lebron's performance last night was perplexing. Something tells me that he's being mentally shut down. It was also lack of team effort and mike brown did a shitty job of rotating players. If the celtics win the next game, expect him to get canned. Big Z was on a roll with 3 blocks, but was limited to only 14 minutes. Celtics was brilliant last night. Completely the opposite of the way cavs played. I think we've been hoodwinked during the regular season. But the series isn't over yet.

glowbelly | ok ok ok, it doesn't HAVE to go to 7. sheesh. it should, and the cavs should win, because really? really? REALLY? the celtics will get swept by orlando and it will be ugly. i mean way uglier than this series, which has been gross out gag me with a spoon fucking ridiculous. and i would like to say, for the record, that lbj's elbow is FUCKED. it's surgery FUCKED. he is playing really, really fucking hurt. i'm not sure if i love him or hate him for that, and i'm not sure if i care if it means that nobody will want to pick him up on the off season because of it. :P

glowbelly | lol, i'm drunk. it's gotta go to 7. sorry. dumb girl in the house. i'll retreat now.

glowbelly | just as much as the 29 point loss to cleveland in boston probably hurt. this series is ROUGH. i want it to go to 7 and i don't care who wins. i just want it to go to 7. ok, that's a lie, i want cleveland to win...but it's gonna be soooo good.

I agree it was a pretty good season for the nba with the emerging young stars including kevin durant and the numerous heroic last second plays. Believe me I've watched more games this season than anyone I know thanks to working overnight shift at a job where there's cable that includes nbatv. I think the conference finals will be slightly better regardless who the magic will face. The hawks were undersized against the magic and they had nothing on dwight howard. If the cavs advance, expect Shaq to go all out on dwight as if every game was his last. Kendrick perkins is also a tough match up. It should be interesting watching lebron guard rondo tonight. I don't think it makes any difference to rondo anyway. Also it should give paul pierce an opportunity to break out of a shooting slump. |

You're not missing much. This year's playoffs have been a lackluster especially the 2nd round with 3 teams carrying a 3 games to none lead. The magic have been steamrolling throughout the playoffs. The best series so far was the Hawks/Bucks in the 1st round when the Bucks had a 3 games to 2 lead and lost it in the last 2. But its not saying much because the hawks are lacking emotion and unity. Cavs/celts series is a tight one so far, with both teams trading a blow out game on opponent's home court. In game 3, you could tell lebron james was playing with a lot of anger and urgency. Right now celtics have a 8 point lead with 7 minutes left and I'm not expecting it to last. They've blown double digit leads 17 times this season. |
