blacksamster | I've never been in to comics before... but picked up the first volume of Sandman a year ago, and now I'm slowly working my way through Sandman and Preacher (both on hearsay!). I would be going faster except I can't drop more than $20 very often, and so I have to pick one or the other to buy at a time. =( |

GingerGrrl22 | I read "The Sandman" collection, including "Endless Nights," "The Dream Hunters," and the two Death tbps, at least twice a year, and it seems like I find new things in them every time. I agree that "Preludes and Nocturnes" is not that great looking, but Gaiman's storytelling overrides that. |

it really doesn't hurt that Gaiman is cute, huh, ladies? who's with me? howzabout that photo of him under a streetlamp in the London fog? nice... i am really enjoying his short stories, too. i agree that nobody should try to do a movie on the Sandman, adn i kinda doubt they will. but if they do, i hope they choose a soundtrack from bands like Joy Division, the Cure, the Smiths, Sisters of Mercy, This Mortal Coil, etc... otherwise it would SuXoR!!! |

I got hooked when a friend showed me his collection. I always loved the story of Bagdad in a bottle, and I literally wept for about an hour when I read The Wake. Let's all pray they never try to make a film of Sandman, because it would have to be at least a trilogy, and I trust no one but Del Toro or maybe Peter Jackson to do it any sort of justice. What say you? |

Max Power | I've managed to see him Gaiman three times, one in which he read Coraline in its entirety. I agree that Brief Lives is my favorite of the trades, and I even had Gaiman signed my copy with the quote "But from here, I can pretend." |

Yeah, this title MADE Vertigo. The Cereal Convention was my favourite issue (of course). I loved the Corinthian. There was a spinoff (The Dreaming) which had some very dodgy moments, but a few good ones as well. It detailed the lesser characters of the Dreaming - Mervyn, Cain and Abel, the Thessalian, etc. |

Doctor_Who | One of the greatest comic book series of all time. Gaiman is brilliant. |

El Sammo | Hell, my friend HATES comics and became interested in reading Sandman after she watched "Stardust" and discovered it was written by Gaiman. |

El Sammo | I've been looking for the Sandman book that was illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano. I have seen some of the artwork he did for it, and it blew my fucking mind. Amano and Gaiman have to be the perfect team. |

whod99 | I am a bit of a fanboy for Neil Gaiman's works. For me, Sandman was the series that convinced me there were still stories worth telling in the world--prior to finding it, I had given up on books, movies, comics--the art of storytelling in general. I cannot recommend his work highly enough--his comics, his books, his movies (though I have not seen the more recent one), all of it. |

captain516 | I guess I'm the only one who liked Sam Kieth's art. But Sandman really is one of the best series there is. Morpheus even looks like Gaiman, sort of. |

bobbidyboo | I love just about everything Neil Gaiman does, and this series has to be my favorite. My daughter even loves the Little Endless Storybook based on the Sandman characters. I agree some of the early artwork was just awful, but the story was always enough to overlook poor color choices. |

Creepy-critters | A midsummer's night dream was one of my favourites. And I agree. I have the trade of Preludes, and the colouring is absolutely atrocious. Everyone except for dream, who still stands out prominently despite being a mix of black and white shades. Gaiman is a genius |
