mburbank They were all the same event and you are prevaracating. Am I looking to deeply or have you now avoided about half a dozen chances to answer this direct question. Do you think Peggy Noonan got the quote wrong? You know who she is, right?

Face it, Nalds, you're like the xperiment with the baboob and the equi-distant food dishes. You are incapable of saying you were wrong but equally incxapable of saying W was wrong. It's got nothing to do with 'looking deeply'.

Jesus. Political Philosipher or not?

Naldo: Con.

Bush, Keyes, Hatch: Pro.

Ronnie Raygun Ooooooh,

So Christian.

Ronnie Raygun I think you're trying to look too deep into this.

Let me ask you a question. Were all of your sources from the same event?

If so, I would have to see a transcript because they contradict each other.

ABC news said "thinker". And some of the others say political philosopher. Where they two seperate events?
Mar 3rd, 2003 02:31 PM
mburbank The question was not "who is your favorite thinker". The question was "Who is your favorite Political Philsopher" To which G.W. not to mention Keyes and Hatch responded "Jesus Christ".

When you said you would answer direct questions, you were lieing.

Again and rephrased:

Was Jesus a Political Philosipher?

Were W, et al. wrong to say that? Where you wrong to describe Jesus as 'not into politics'. Why is it so hard for you to answer this question? I think it is becuase you find Doubt an almost unbearable condition.
Mar 3rd, 2003 01:05 PM
Ronnie Raygun O.K., I guess I was refering to the debates. Jesus was indeed a thinker.

That doesn't really have to mean politics.
Mar 3rd, 2003 01:00 PM
mburbank "When quizzed by NBC anchor Tom Brokaw about his choice of Jesus as his favorite political philosopher, Bush responded: "When you accept Christ as your savior, it changes your heart, it changes your life."
-Businessweek

"GOP presidential candidates name the philosopher or thinker who had the most influence on their lives, as asked during Monday night’s debate.

Steve Forbes: John Locke and Thomas Jefferson.
Alan Keyes: The Founding Fathers.
Gov. George W. Bush: Jesus Christ.
Sen. Orrin Hatch: Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and Jesus Christ.
Sen. John McCain: Founding Fathers and Theodore Roosevelt.
Gary Bauer: Jesus Christ."
-abcnews.com

"Mr. Bush is not a great debater. He hasn't even shown himself to be a good debater. In the primary debates he looked like he was sliding down in his chair so teacher wouldn't notice him. And when he tried to speak candidly, saying for instance that Jesus was his favorite philosopher, he couldn't explain why except to assert that Christ had changed his heart, which seemed both believable and inadequate."
-Peggy Noonan

"George W. Bush cited Jesus as his favorite political philosopher."
Joseph Loconte, American Heritage Foundation

"The question was posed by the moderator at an early Republican presidential debate in 1999: "Who is your favorite political philosopher?" George W. Bush surprised, if not stunned, his fellow candidates when he tersely declared, "Jesus Christ, because he changed my life."
-Douglas Groothuis, ChristianityToday.com

Ronnie Raygun REALLY!?

I'm glad you said that because I think the quote was about role models and had nothing to do with politics.

Maybe I'm IGNORANT of the quote you are speaking of or maybe the quote your thinking of doesn't exist but either way, I'm not lieing.
Mar 3rd, 2003 12:20 PM
mburbank A moment, and I'll get it. But by your definition, you just lied. That quote was widely reported at the time, you know absolutely the one I'm referring to and you choose to act as if you don't to make some sort of point. You are a liar.
Mar 3rd, 2003 12:15 PM
Ronnie Raygun Well, Maxi I want to respond but you won't give me Bush's quote......I think it's fairly obvious that I can't just take you for your word.

Show me the quote with a link please.

If that's not too much trouble...

mburbank Naldo... What happend to "Ask me a direct question?" You are dodging.

W. said when asked that Jesus was his favorite political philosipher.

You said that Jesus wasn't 'into' politics.

Despite your clims to the contrary it is very rare to see you say that YOU made a mistake and rrer still to see you say that one of your heros made a mistake. Here's a great opportunity to put up or shut up.

In your opinion, where you glib in your statement, or was W wrong in his assesment of Jesus? Or would you cre to equivicate, parse words and Clintonize on what the words 'favorite' 'political' and 'philosipher' mean?
Mar 3rd, 2003 11:58 AM
Ronnie Raygun Me too.
Mar 3rd, 2003 11:57 AM
Anonymous Are we talking about the same thing here

I'm talking about a delicious cookbook that hotels supply you with
Mar 3rd, 2003 11:51 AM
Ronnie Raygun Not completely. But it's there.....

And no Cho, you must not.

Anonymous Why? Is the bible all about the molesting of little boys?

Apparently I don't know the bible as well as I thought I did
Mar 3rd, 2003 11:45 AM
Ronnie Raygun Perhaps you should pay more attention.
Mar 3rd, 2003 11:44 AM
Anonymous I don't remember hearing anything about it in the bible.
Mar 3rd, 2003 11:43 AM
Ronnie Raygun Well! YEAH!

Of Course it's a sin!

What planet are you from?
Mar 3rd, 2003 11:36 AM
Anonymous According to you, so is molesting little boys.
Mar 3rd, 2003 11:34 AM
Ronnie Raygun According to Maxi, eating chinese food is a sin since Jesus didn't do it.

Anonymous And on an equally related note, I am eating chinese food.

Ronnie Raygun Jesus did play sports to my knowledge, does that mean playing baseball is wrong?
Feb 28th, 2003 02:42 PM
