Ruffling through some old papers from high school, I found some of my pathetic attempts at poetry that were supposed to show my deep, sensitive side with the ladies. This first derivative installment is from my ninth grade year and actually worked to a degree.
Quote:
Silently Crying by Kelly Chaos
Walking life's trailm, there's a lady out there
Singing her song on the wind.
Bearing her soul to the open air
While waiting for life to begin
Taking the road less travelled by
Starring in a film by herself
Her life goes on as she lets out a sigh
and puts another day on the shelf
Wishing someone would take hold of her life,
Because she's not quite ready to use it.
Balancing on the sharp side of a knife,
Better watch her life of she'll lose it.
She knows life itself is the sharpest blade
Her emotional scars show us well.
Although some heal quickly, others will fade,
As she sits in her private hell,
Alone ... and silently crying.
