You have to read this.

The best part

Quote:
Parents who allow a son to grow and wear long hair are contributing to a rebellion against God and against our country. This is a sure step in losing control of a child. Preachers and Churches who compromise on this subject, hoping to reach more young people are actually fighting against God. Let us stand, whatever the cost!

Actually, I can't remember ever seeing someone with long hair proclaim their homosexuality.

Maybe they should be trying to abolish handlebar mustaches instead.

It seems unlikely to me that Jesus would wear his hair short just to maintain the ROMAN status quo. Had he wanted to do that, he probably wouldn't have said those nice things about the meek and all that.

I used to have one. I've been tempted to grow it out again. I'm just limited with what I can do with a moustache because my upper lip hair doesn't connect with my cheak hair. :sigh

Doesn't it say that long hair on a man is dishonourable or something in the Bible? Ever since I found that out, I have always thought it ironic that Jesus is depicted with long hair.

I don't have any problem with long hair, but I don't think that I'd ever be able to grow my hair longer than a few inches. It would bother me too much.

I always thought it ironic that Jesus is depicted as a white guy. He must have really stood out in the Middle East, where he would have been the one and only white person around (except for the Roman occupying troops, maybe..hm...virgin birth?).

Of course, the most popular theory that I've heard is that this is just another example of Christians using whatever means necessary to get converts - they painted Jesus in the image of Greek statues (namely Hercules). This would explain both the pale skin and the long hair. What do y'all think?

Isn't it like a really old traditional Jewish thing to let the hair grow out? I thought around Jesus' time Jewish men weren't supposed to cut their hair at all, and since he was Jewish having short hair wouldn't make sense.

You are only not supposed to cut the sidelocks.

Some catholic once told me (I don't know if this is true or not) but the reason women have long hair is b/c of eve's sin, and the long hair was so that the grace of God was never allowed to shine on her head, but men were supposed to keep it short for that purpose. Don't know if that's true or not.

In my experiences, it is quite the contrary. I work with 3 gay guys. One is older and has a very prominent forehead, but even if it weren't for that, he would still have very short hair. The other 2 all have very closely shaved hairstyles.

Personally, I do not like the long-hair look. I prefer to have medium hair, myself. However, I do believe in the old saying "To each his own".

I am going to start telling people that I have long hair to keep the grace of God from shining on my head.

I wonder if these assclowns have ever seen a U.S. 100 bill, or heard of Ben Franklin for that matter.

True. Look what the Catholics (and others) do what it takes to minimize the competition. Look how they bastatrdized the meaning of the paganistic pentogram symbol in one of their little smear campaigns for dominance. In fact, look what they've done to the word "pagan" (the definition below sounds pretty evil, n'est-ce pas?).

Quote:
PENTAGRAM or PENTACLE A five-pointed star sometimes surrounded by a circle. It is often used to symbolize Earth and its properties—stability, material wealth, the body, and practical affairs. Each point represents an element, with the topmost one representing Spirit.

PAGAN A practitioner of an Earth Religion; from the Latin a country dweller. Also considered any religion that is not Christianity.

Num.6:5 "No razor shall come upon his [a Nazarite's] head. He shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair on his head grow."

Jg.13:5 "For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son [Samson]; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite."

1 Sam.1:11 "I will give him [Samuel] unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head."

"Gimme head with hair, long beautiful hair;
shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen ...
Give me down to there hair, shoulder length or longer;
here baby, there mama, everywhere daddy daddy ...
hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair ...
Flow it, show it, long as God can grow it, my hair."
from "Hair"

Wasn't Jesus a Nazarene, as opposed to a Nazarite?
