Old Dec 16th, 2003, 12:20 AM        New Kirby GBA Game
Apparently, even though the creator of Kirby left Nintendo and HAL Labs, they're still going to make new Kirby games. Not surprising, considering how the character is quite marketable. The next Kirby game is going to be an original side-scrolling adventure due in Japan sometime next year. In it, Kirby is going to have a cell phone that doesn't work half the time and has to be recharged constantly, just like a real phone. He'll use it to summon sidekick characters, perhaps like "Kirby Superstar" for the SNES. It's tentatively titled "Kirby: Labyrinth of the Mirror" or something, and I'm looking forward to it.

EDIT: My source is a website called "1UP", and their source is some Japanese comic collection or something.

Lol, wtf is with Nintendo using all this weird stuff for their games. Water cannons, cell phones, vacuum cleaners. I bet in the next Donkey Kong game, you have to carry around a shopping cart and hope hobos don't steal it.

Isn't there something about Kirby turning into an angel? I read about it at Magic Box.

If i didn't know any better i'd say this was purposefully marketed at young American children.

Every kid's cool older brother/sister has a cell phone. So, those are cool if you're under 14.

Kirby is and always has been cool, ever since he was on Fox on saturday mornings.

Cell phones + kirby = m4d pr0f1tz

I've heard that the ads for this is called (I'm not joking) "Beat of with DK!"

That would indeed kick-ass. I would also like to see the helpers come back (Rick, Kine, and Coo from Kirby's Dreamland 3).

Nintendo is trying to raise profits by adding cheap gimmicks to their game. I doubt we'll see another DK platformer any time soon, seeing as how Rare and Nintendo split, and Nintendo doesn't really care about poor old DK anymore. Donkey Konga is proof of that. And I would so play a DK game like the one you described... Donkey Kong: Grand Theft Monkey.

Kirby has ALWAYS been cool. The fact that he has his own show now just adds to it. I like the show, but I'm a bit disappointed in the fact that they only used five characters from the series as regulars (Kibry, King Dedede, Lololo, Lalala, and Meta Knight). What about the characters from Kirby's Dreamland 2 and 3 like Gooey and the helpers?

Lololo and Lalala aren't from Kirby. Go check out The Adventures Of Lolo on the NES.

I saw the show once, and me and my friend were laughing for 20 minutes. One of the kids yells "Warp star!" and it just flashes to Wispy yelling "WAAAAARP STAAAAAR!" and it comes out of his mouth.

Lololo and Lalala were bosses in the first Kirby game, so I count them in as Kirby characters. And it's not Whispy, it's some sort of totem guy whose name escapes me. I've yet to see Whispy Woods in the show.

EDIT: The fact that the kids just kind of shout for a warp star and it comes is pretty hilarious, though.

Sorry for sounding like an arrogant asshole, there, Schimid. It's just that... well, I'm an idiot, so I take pride in the stuff I do know.
